Early morning 🌄
Mahi.... slowly opening his eyes. The nervousness from the previous night still lingers, but today is different.... It’s match day - the final
Yuvi is still snoring lightly, sprawled out on the other bed....mahi quietly gets up, trying not to wake him....he walks over to the window, drawing the curtains back slightly to let the sunlight in....as he stares out at the Johannesburg skyline, a sense of determination washes over him
After sometime
Yuvi finally wakes up, rubbing his eyes and yawning loudly...mahi.... already dressed in his team tracksuit, sits on the bed, mentally preparing himself for the day ahead...
Yuvi : (groggy) Kya yaar, mahi.... Itni subah kaun uthta hai !?? Tu soya bhi tha kya ?!
Mahi smiles faintly, shaking his head...
Mahi : thoda sa, but aaj ka din so ke kaise bita sakte hain...yuvi ?!
Yuvi sits up, stretching his arms above his head
Yuvi : woh toh hai....par finals se pehle thoda relax karna zaroori hota hai....
Mahi : (serious) Relax toh main karne ki koshish kar raha hoon, but yeh final ka pressure... it's different, yaar....
Yuvi looks at him thoughtfully before getting up and patting him on the back
Yuvi : arre bhai...tu captain hai....agar tu pressure lega toh team ka kya hoga...? Relax kar...sab sambhal lenge....aaj apna din hai
Mahi nods, appreciating yuvi’s words but still feeling the weight of the day pressing down on him....he knows the entire nation’s eyes are on him and his team today...
The team gathers outside the hotel to board the bus....there’s a palpable tension in the air...but also a quiet determination.....everyone is focused...aware that today is the day they’ve all been working toward...
As the team steps onto the bus, mahi takes one last look at the hotel before getting on....he feels the pressure again but reminds himself of the words of his teammates and his own responsibility as captain...
Mahi sits at the end of the bus, staring out the window as the city passes by.....yuvi is beside him, listening to music, lost in his own world....the rest of the team is silent, each player mentally preparing for the battle ahead...
Rohit, seated a few rows behind mahi, looks out nervously but tries to stay calm.....he catches mahi’s eye in the reflection of the window....mahi gives him a small nod of encouragement and rohit responds with a determined smile....
The bus pulls into the wanderers stadium and the sight of the iconic venue makes the finality of the moment hit home....as the team disembarks...there’s a buzz of excitement around them...the energy of the fans already beginning to build outside the gates...
