You pad along the back of an abandoned old building, the wind blows through it, causing it to creak and groan slightly.
"Well great, I'm sent off to some ancient abandoned building for a mission and NOBODY'S HERE!" You scream into the wind. There is no one for miles in any direction. You are out here on your own. This entire place was not at all what you'd been expecting. Still, you are enjoying the time alone, away from the rest of the Avengers, and after the last fight you'd all had, you don't think anyone would notice you weren't there. A few days ago, you bought a new apartment a few blocks away from the compound. More likely than not, they think that you are there, taking a few days to let everything calm down."Ah, you still only see with your eyes, young lady." A man stepped into view.
"Who are you?" You demand, eyes wide.
"It's not about who I am, it's about what I have to offer. Please, come inside." He gestures to a door and you begrudgingly follow him. "I organised this mission, specifically for you, Agent Y/n L/n. I have heard that you and the Avengers have been having some. . . disagreements over you, your purpose with them and how you use your powers. You are here today and for the next month or so to discover more about yourself and your powers.""Great, so just like training camp." You huff and start to turn to the door. "Yeah, I'm done, have a nice day." Just as you reach the door, it slams shut, you jump back, startled. "What the HELL?!"
"Listen to me, Y/n, this is for your own good."
"Totally."
The man sighs. "I was told you might be uncooperative, Y/n, you just need to understand, this is the best thing for yo-"
"Not a chance, if you knew me at all, you'd know that I hate getting told that people know all about me! They don't! If you want me to help you, you better start acting like I'm not just some kid, I'm eighteen. Eighteen! Legally, I am an adult and so this whole 'you're just a kid who knows nothing' act is getting old. I swear it's like you all treat me differently because I'm younger and..." You trail off."Are you done, now, Y/n?"
"No." You say, but it's useless, you need him to fight back, without it, you have no reason to continue. You sigh. "Yes."
"Good, now follow me, I think I have exactly what you need right now."After eight gruelling days of training with Mr. MacAnnoying Man, you finally snap. You yell at him, and annoyingly, he stays completely silent. Thinking. Calculating.
"Miss L/n, you must learn to control your emotions better." He states. "If you don't, you're rarely going to be of assistance to people." You just stare at him. Your body shaking with rage.
"And I should listen to you, because why? You've lied to me, made me stay here and taken me away from my friends and family. Now you want me to do what you say. Don't think for a second that I am going to be a good little girl and do what you say, because I. Am. Done." I turn around and make my way back to the door.
"You don't want to do that, Y/n. "
"Why not?" You demand, seeing only red.
"It is to my knowledge that the only reason you came here was because you'd had a fight with your friends. I highly doubt you're going to go back there and act like nothing's changed." I spin on my heels. Although he has a point, you've had enough. It doesn't matter what he says, you are going to get back to the compound within the next week or two.650 words
A/n - Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I wrote a story and got stuck halfway through. As I was going back over some fanfics I've written while in a mood, I discovered this one. It was super fun to write the angry bits. I'm gonna write Part 2 soon.
