Olivia's heart races as the cheers from the Hall still ring in her ears. The Dauntless members, now her new faction, are already on the move. No time to second guess. She watches as the Dauntless members run towards the exit, their excitement contagious. The other new initiates look just as unsure as she feels, but hesitation isn't an option here.
Without thinking, Olivia breaks into a sprint, joining the others as they race down the stone corridors of the building. The sounds of their pounding feet echo behind them, the rush of adrenaline pushing her forward. Being a naturally fast runner, she dodges through the crowd, weaving her way to the front. Some stumble, but no one stops. No one dares to.
Ahead, she sees the open doors to the outside world. A gust of wind blows through as they burst through the entrance and out into the fresh air. Olivia glances around at the city that seems to stretch forever. And then, they hear it — the faint sound of a train.
The tracks come into view, and Olivia's eyes widen as she realizes what's happening. The train is moving — fast. It's not stopping for them. The Dauntless aren't waiting for anything. They leap onto the still-moving train as if it's the most natural thing in the world.
Olivia watches as the first few initiates make the leap, some barely grabbing hold of the metal railings and getting pulled inside. Her pulse quickens, her legs ready to move, even as fear grips her.
With a deep breath, Olivia runs alongside the train, her eyes fixed on the door. She throws herself forward, hands reaching for the cold metal. Her fingers grasp the railing, and with a burst of strength, she pulls herself up and into the train car. She collapses inside, breathing heavily, her heart racing. The other initiates stumble in behind her, some still trembling from the experience. But Olivia feels something else. A spark of excitement, of something wild and free.
As the scene played out on the enchanted screen, Hogwarts watched in stunned fascination. Olivia, had just thrown herself onto a speeding train in the Dauntless initiation — her face determined, her body surging with adrenaline. Gasps rippled through the Great Hall as she barely grabbed the metal railing and hauled herself inside the train, collapsing with exhaustion and relief.
Harry's heart raced as fast as Olivia's on screen, his hands gripping the edge of the chair so tightly his knuckles turned white. He wasn't used to seeing Olivia like this — bold, reckless, and filled with a spark that reminded him of himself. But the wild excitement that flashed in her eyes made his chest tighten with emotions he couldn't quite place.
"You made it." Olivia glances to her left to see a girl with a bright smile, panting but clearly exhilarated. "Thanks. I'm Ollie." The girl smiles at her. "I'm Christina. Is it just me, or are they trying to kill us?" Olivia laughs nervously, glancing ahead at the Dauntless members who are gathered on the end of the train. "What are they doing?"
"We're supposed to jump?" Olivia's stomach flips as she watches the others leap out the train onto a building, one by one. Christina gasps beside her. "What if we don't make it?" Olivia smirks. "I guess you'll be factionless. No pressure or anything." Christina glances over at Al, one of the larger initiates, as he hesitates. "Good luck, Al!" With a determined look, Olivia nods to Christina. "Together?" Christina grins. "Yeah. Together."
The Great Hall held its breath as Olivia stood at the edge of the train door. A collective gasp echoed when Olivia's smirk broke through the tension, her teasing words to Christina lighting a spark of daring that filled the room.
"She's really going to do it," Ron muttered, wide-eyed.
Hermione leaned forward, her nails digging into the table, her voice soft but filled with awe. "She's not hesitating... She's not scared at all."
Harry, on the other hand, sat rigid, his jaw clenched as he watched his sister prepare to leap into the unknown.
"One, two, three!" With a deep breath, Olivia and Christina throw themselves off the train, feeling the weightlessness for just a moment before hitting the rooftop below with a thud. Olivia rolls on impact, feeling a rush of pain shoot through her limbs, but she's alive. She made it. As she gets to her feet, the other initiates land beside her, some cheering, others groaning in pain. twisting.
Eric stood tall, eyes scanning the nervous group of new Dauntless initiates as they gathered at the edge of the building. "All right, listen up!" he barked, his voice cutting through the tension. "I'm Eric, one of your leaders. If you want to enter Dauntless, this is the way in. And if you don't have the guts to jump, you don't belong here." Olivia's heart raced as she glanced over the edge. "Is there water at the bottom or something?" someone asked from behind.
Eric smirked. "I guess you'll find out. Or not." The group hesitated, eyes darting between each other. Someone had to go first. Olivia took a deep breath, her resolve hardening. "I'll go," she said, stepping forward before anyone else could move, taking off her coat and letting it fall to the floor. "Yeah, stiff, take it off!" someone jeered from the back, but Olivia ignored them. She stood on the edge, staring down into the unknown, her pulse thundering in her ears. Eric's gaze bore into her. "Today, Initiate."
The tension in the Hall was palpable as the scene unfolded on the screen. Olivia's parents watched with bated breath, Lily clutching James' arm tightly. "She's not really going to jump off a building, is she?" Lily whispered, her voice trembling. James said nothing, his eyes fixed on the screen, his face a mask of worry and pride.
Without another thought, Olivia took a leap, her body plunging into the abyss with a smile on her face. The wind rushed past her, her breath caught in her throat. Suddenly, she hit the net at the bottom with a soft thud, her body bouncing slightly as she gasped for air. A hand reached down to help her up. "What, you get pushed?" a voice asked with a smirk. Olivia shook her head, steadying herself. "No." The Dauntless leader grinned. "What's your name?" She looked up and her breath hitched as her eyes met the Dauntless leader's intense gaze for the first time, his quiet strength and mysterious presence instantly captivating her in a way she hadn't expected.
"Damn, he is HOT" Many agreed with the statement. "I bet you ten galleons that they end up together." Fred Weasley said to his twin. "Your on." George smirked back.
"You can pick a new one if you want," he said, "but make it good. You don't get to pick again." Olivia squared her shoulders, a new determination settling over her. "Ollie." The man smiled slightly. "First jumper, Ollie!" he announced, his eyes never left hers, his voice echoing through the chamber. Cheers erupted around her. "Welcome to Dauntless!"
