Sitting on a swing was a blond boy. His orange jumpsuit felt tight and suffocating as the other kids in the academy talked with their parents about becoming Genin. They'd be true Shinobi for Konokagure. Unlike him.

Getting off the swing he left before any of the other students could notice him. Walking down the streets to his apartment he could feel the sneers. Insults pierced his ears like kunai to his chest. Clenching his fists he ran the rest of the way home.

It has always been like this. The villagers hated him. He wasn't even sure why they hated him. Demon, monster, worthless and so many others. Why can't they let him be. He just wants some peace. Why is that so much to ask for. He is just a boy.

Arriving at his apartment he shut the doors and blinds and laid on his couch. Thinking about his life. He didn't have any friends. Most kids just tolerated him. They never cared about whether he was lonely. Maybe he needed someone like they had. Someone to take care of him.

Letting out a sigh he went to his fridge and pulled out some milk. Sniffing it to make sure it was still good before pouring a glass. Taking a sip just before he was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Hey Naruto!" He heard Mizuki sensei outside. Hearing him but not making any move to the door Naruto went back to his couch. Mizuki knocked again, "Come on I know you're in there Naruto-kun."

Ignoring him again Naruto thought about his time in this apartment. He still remembered Hokage-jiji dropping him off here. Giving him money for rent and food. He was four when that happened. Four years old and left with nothing but some money and food. Now he is twelve and still struggling.

"Maybe I should just leave." Naruto said out loud to himself. He didn't mean it though right? Going to his bathroom he turned on the shower and let the water rain down on top of him. Feeling the hot water wash his worry away for a moment.

Though that didn't last. He kept going back to that thought. 'Maybe he should just leave.' Why? He needed to stay and become Hokage right? Show everyone that he was actually great.

Looking at the ceiling he let a single stray tear fall. Nobody cared for him. He was garbage in their eyes. Something not worth having around. He couldn't be a ninja here. He made up his mind. He was leaving Konoha.

Getting up he saw that the sun was going down. He'd make his move at nightfall and leave the village. Packing extra clothes, kunai, and instant ramen he waited. Watching closely till finally the sun fell and the night sky appeared.

Running to the South gate he looked for any Shinobi. Nobody was around anywhere. Apparently something else was going on in the village. What, he had no idea though.

Quickly he scaled the gate. Jumping down on the other side and running as fast as he could. Soon he was far enough away that only the moonlight lit the ground. Smiling to himself he kept walking. Not wanting to fall behind his time frame. He wanted to make it to the border. Any border really before they realized he was gone.

For some reason he always had guards. Anbu was always watching him. When he went home they left till morning. He hated it. Why couldn't they just treat him normal. Why watch him all the time like some prisoner.

By daybreak he made it to a small village. Walking along nobody paid him much mind. Stopping he pulled out what little ryo he had. Having just enough he bought some bread for his walk. The lady was super nice to him and even gave him some cheese for free. Making him smile brighter than he has in a long time.

So he continued on. As he wondered he came upon another small town. While walking he heard that people were looking for a small blond boy with goggles and an orange jumpsuit. Not wanting to be spotted he ran.
