Hiruzen looked down as a dog ran into his office. Pukkan set a letter in his hand, "Pukkan. I'm shocked to see you again so soon."

The dog looked at the Hokage, "Sorry Hokage-sama. I was told it was urgent." Opening the letter Hiruzen paused. He stared wide eyed at the piece of paper. Shock and wonder appeared in his chest.

Inside was a detailed report of their mission since they're running with the Demon Brothers. A fight with a A-Ranked missing nin. Kakashi being saved by a boy from the Slayer Core of Okoyama. It was the boy that was shocking though. He is saying that he is pretty sure this kid is Naruto Uzumaki.

Turning he summoned a small monkey into the office, "Take this letter to Jiraiya at once. I need him to confirm this immediately."

Waking up Naruto was startled by a pretty looking girl staring down at him. Sitting up he looked around to see his katana not far off. The girl looked at him curiously, "Why are you sleeping in the grass?"

Chuckling Naruto sat up, "I was escaping for the night from people and kind of fell asleep." Looking over the girl's face. Her chakra felt familiar but he couldn't place it, "I'm Naruto Uzumaki. Who are you? I've never seen you before?"

"Oh yes I'm not from here. You may call me Haku." Naruto stood up and bowed, "Nice to meet you. What are you doing out here?"

"Oh I'm here to get herbs for my friend. He was really hurt but is doing much better. Should be good to go if I can help with his pain."

That's when Naruto realized who he was talking to. This was the Ninkin from before. The one who took Zabuza's body. Naruto looked again at the girl. Sighing he smiled, "Well can I help you a bit."

"That would be great thank you." Walking with the girl he helped pick up any herbs that she may need, "So I saw you're katana. Are you a Shinobi?"

"No. I'm from the Slayer core." Naruto stated with a smile, "Ninja life wasn't for me you know."

"Yeah I'm guessing so." Naruto chuckled at the girls canny smile. Pulling up the last of the herbs she looked at Naruto, "Just so you know I am a boy by the way."

Naruto's face showed his shock. She was prettier than Kanoa and Sakura. Though while he was thinking about the girls being pretty another face popped into his head. Making his whole body heat up, "Well goodbye Naruto-kun."

"Yeah goodbye." Naruto looked at the girl with a smirk, "I'll see you and Zabuza later Haku-san."

Haku froze for a moment only for Naruto to disappear before he could react. He hadn't realized how nice the boy was going to be. He was happy and kind. Smart and strong. He was cute and deadly. It made him wish they could have met under different circumstances.

Naruto arrived back at the house. Feeling the dread of having to most likely fight someone he could have been friends with. Shaking the thought from himself he opened the door to see everyone was sitting in the living room.

His mask his his face well. Though two people saw through the mask. One was Tanjiro he stood up ready to approach his little brother. The other was Konohamaru. Somehow the boy could read his body language. Looking at Tanjiro his eyes were serious, "They will attack us tomorrow."

"What? How do you know?" Kakashi asked carefully, "I met a boy today. I stayed out late last night and woke up to a boy staring at me. He was the hunter nin. He said that he was getting herbs for his friend who would be up and at with some pain relief."

Kakashi nodded, "Than we need to be ready. We know he has three shinobi. I think we split up. I'll take my team and guard Tazuna."

Tanjiro smiled while looking at Naruto, "We will stay and watch over Tsunami-sama and Inari-kun." Kakashi looked at Tanjiro and Naruto in relief knowing they'd be safe. His eye lingered on Naruto for a moment. Something Naruto noticed immediately.
