Konohamaru,
I hope you made it back to the Hidden Leaf okay. We are just getting back to the Land of Swords. Not sure what my mission will be but I know it will be tough if it's anything like the last. Tanjiro and I have been training like crazy. We both know we need to get stronger. Especially after that last fight.
I hope your training too! You were already pretty strong for a Genin. Maybe one day we will be on a mission together again.
-KyatKonohamaru smiled to himself as he finished reading the letter. Looking at the ceiling he felt his cheeks flush thinking as he thought of the masked boy. It hadn't been a question before but he'd never thought he'd like another boy before. It wasn't something he even considered.
Sitting up he grabbed his shirt. He realized he should probably ask either Uncle Asuma or his Grandfather about it. First to ask about training because he couldn't let what happened in the Land of Waves happen again. That was a rude awakening for him and Sasuke. Second, he wanted to ask about his feelings for a boy he didn't really know. Maybe they'd help him figure things out.
Making their way back into the Land of Swords. Tanjiro and Naruto were headed to meet up with Zennetsu. Tanjiro was telling Naruto about all of his time traveling and training before they met.
Hearing about how Tanjiro was trained in water breathing made the blond a little envious. Naruto knew he needed a breathing style at some point to truly get stronger. Though it wasn't a necessity, it helped a lot in different scenarios. Not to mention it looked so cool.
Tanjiro himself told him that they needed to find him the right master. Having an affinity for wind was rare in the Okoyama. The current Wind Hashira has to learn everything from scrolls in the first place.
Arriving at a small town near the mountain. The two boys set up in a hotel. This village was going to be where they meet up with Zennetsu. Setting up their stuff near their beds Tanjiro looked at Naruto, "Want to go do some training?"
"That be great! Than a bath I think!" Tanjiro couldn't help but smile at that. Naruto grabbed his katana and follow the older boy out to the outskirts of the village, "So I want to focus on your breathing."
Really Naruto wasn't to sure why they needed to talk about the it. He didn't have a breathing style so it really shouldn't of mattered, "I noticed in the fight against that Shinobi, when you breath like I do then an orange hue comes off the sword."
Looking down at his katana Naruto concentrated. Thinking of that battle against the ninja in Wave. He'd been so focused he hadn't even noticed but there had been something. It almost felt warm, and scary. Anger filled his chest when it came but it was subtle.
"I think it's the foxes chakra." Naruto felt his stomach turn at that. How could he be bringing out the foxes power, "You are already really good about using chakra to encompass your sword when you fight. It's just.......different."
Grabbing his sword he looked down at it, "What should I do?" Tanjiro thought for a moment to himself. Naruto wondered what scenarios were going through his head. Did he think that he was going to turn into that monster to? Was he worried that the fox might take control?
Tanjiro though smiled, "I think we should try to take some of that power. I want you to use your breathing techniques to try and enhance your swords movements."
Naruto felt mixed by this but followed Tanjiro's lead. Going through his movements he let his chakra surround him and the katana. Each time he sang using the power output of his massive reserves to slice trees in half. Except no matter how many times he moved, the chakra stayed blue. No orange leaked out.
