Draco's Confession

Oh dear. I was in some very big trouble indeed. "So what do you think gives you the right to stroll around the castle at 2 in the morning?! Dad yelled. "Have you no sense of safety?! He continued just as loudly. "Well I- um I-" I stuttered, unable to come up with an excuse, not daring to mention that I had been hanging out with a boy. "Well, nothing! Go to bed immediately before Filch spots you out of bed. Go now!"

I immediately sped away, rushing down to the dungeons. As I entered the common room, I realised Snape must have crashed the party, confiscated to booze and sent everyone to bed. The common room was a ghost town and eerily quiet. What a start to the year. I crept up the stairs, entering mine and Daphne's dorm. She was sat on the floor removing her makeup.

"Where have you been, Ken?" Daphne questioned, staring up at me. "You'll never believe it, but I was on top of the greenhouse with Draco..." I spoke timidly. Daphne's eyes widened and a smirk grew across her face. "You little slut!" She slapped my arm playfully. I laughed and responded quickly, "No, no, not like that. We just star gazed, we actually barely even spoke." I confessed. "So you're telling me that you were alone on a roof with Draco Malfoy, the notorious player, in the middle of the night, and nothing happened?!" Daphne exclaimed loudly. I nodded. "Well we almost kissed... I think.. but then the window slammed shut and we had to sneak back into the castle from outside so the moment was lost." I explained, "Draco also abandoned me and then I got caught by my Dad and he's furious with me".  Daphne stared at me amazed. "Well you certainly had an eventful evening. Gosh! Potions will be fun with Papa Snape tomorrow then!" Daphne teased. I groaned internally.

As I opened the curtains of our dorm, I saw the giant squid playfully pulling leaves from the lakes floor. Our dorms being in the dungeons well below the school meant that our windows were like aquarium views. The walls of the dungeons connected to the Black Lake. Most of the Slytherins hated this as we got no natural light, but I absolutely adored looking out my window at all the mer-people each morning. I rushed to get ready, throwing on my robes and running a brush through the slightly messy curls that remained from last night.

After breakfast, Slytherin had double potions straight away with Gryffindor. Daphne and I headed straight to the back of the classroom as I liked to hide whenever I had my fathers class. Potions took place in the dungeons right near our dorm rooms which was handy. Snape glided in, dimming the lights, leaving only a few candles lit around the room.

Throughout the lesson, Snape droned on about the importance of potion making and its delicate art, like he did every year. He then brought out a bunch of potions and had us guess what they were. Snape made Draco go first. He stood up smelling them and peering into each of the cauldrons. "This potion just smells like green apples and cinnamon, kinda perfumey." Draco said, confused. An evil smirk grew across my father's face. "Well Draco, that is none other than Amortentia, can anyone tell me what that is?" Hermione Granger from Gryffindor's hand shot up in the air, but Snape ignored her. "Well students, its the strongest love potion in the world and incredibly dangerous. It's smell changes to the liking on the person smelling it. So Draco must have a little crush." Snape teased. Draco flushed red and sat back down, slamming his potions book closed. "Don't you use apple and cinnamon shampoo?" Daphne whispered in a teasing tone. I also turned a bright shade of pink.

After a long day of class, Daphne and I were walking through the halls carrying out large books after a gruelling History of Magic lesson. I felt a shoulder bump straight into my side as the books tumbled out of my hands. I looked up at Draco sniggering whilst walking away backwards. "Better watch where you're going Snape!" He yelled. Oh great, Draco was back to his usual self. Daphne helped me scoop up my books. "I thought you said he was being nice to you?" She questioned. "I guess not." I responded sadly.
