Ssamu responds positively to affection as well; she likes being treated like a child and hasn't been afraid of me.

She had gotten up in the middle of the night to prevent the other Alters from denying her access to the body, even though she knew it was improper and that she was going to punish herself, hurting herself with cuts.

Yunjin sighed shakily; several hours had passed since her encounter with Ssamu, but she couldn't get her out of her mind. She kept thinking over and over that if it hadn't been for her and her going to find Ssamu, Chaewon might now be hiding her wrists with cuts.

And the idea of Chaewon being hurt didn't sit well with her at all; nausea was invading her stomach, making her want to cry.

Ssamu is the one who remembers the greatest traumas, and who lived them in the past. I suppose she was punished for anything she did, hence her fear of everything and the thought that she deserves punishment. Since no one else will do it, she does it herself with self-destructive behaviors.

She is a pursuer, but I have hope that she can overcome her memories. She has connected with me and shows that she is capable of more than just thinking about the bad.

She doesn't go out much, but I'll try to help her whenever I see her.

She closed the notebook and put it back in its secret place.

Chaewon was still in class; she had about an hour left. Yunjin was free because her professor was ill, so she decided to pamper the girl a bit and went to the bakery to buy her favorite chocolate cupcakes.

Upon returning, she made her coffee and left hot water for when Chaewon came back. Shortly after, the dark-haired girl entered silently with her head down.

-Chaewonnie, I brought your favorite cupcakes. -Yunjin announced, looking at her phone.

-Thank you. -murmured the dark-haired girl after a moment of silence.

Seeing her face, Yunjin immediately grew concerned and got up from the chair to go to her.

-Oh my God, Chaewon, what happened to you?

-It's nothing. -she said, although Yunjin couldn't ignore her bruised eye and swollen lip on one side from a blow.

-What do you mean it's nothing? Who did this?

-It's nothing, it doesn't matter. -she repeated, blinking rapidly to hold back her tears.

-Chaewon...

-Yunjin, leave me alone -the dark-haired girl pulled away, avoiding the hug Yunjin tried to give her-. It's not a big deal, really. Michelle is an idiot who thinks she can fight every idiot who says something bad about me -she shrugged, but it didn't sound convincing-. That's all.

Yunjin looked at her silently, feeling bad. Chaewon wiped her tears and took a cupcake, turning to the corner of the kitchen to make herself some tea, turning her back to her roommate.

The younger one couldn't just leave it like that and ignore her. After thinking for a moment, she went to her and hugged her from behind, wrapping her slender waist with her arms.

-Yunjin, I'm really asking you to stay away because I don't want your pity. -the blonde said, her voice hardened to avoid crying.

-Chaewonnie, stop pretending to be tough.

-You stop feeling sorry for me, I'm fine.

-Who told you I feel sorry for you? -the older one questioned-. The fact that I don't like seeing you hurt doesn't mean I pity you.
