Eloise, perched on the edge of the bed, her body stiff with impatience, and her eyes alight with curiosity. "If i am your mate, then why is Amelia still in your heart?"

"It seems i must tell you of her story" Lilith sighed.

It was a soft sound that carried the weight of unspoken memories. She crossed her legs, settling into a more comfortable position. "𝕺𝖓𝖈𝖊 𝖚𝖕𝖔𝖓 𝖆 𝖙𝖎𝖒𝖊..."

I found myself seated beside a rather boisterous gentleman whose exuberance knew no bounds. His spirited exclamations, though well-intentioned, seemed to fray the nerves of his wife, who sat beside him with a countenance of growing vexation.

Discomforted by the loudness, I decided to seek solace elsewhere. Rising from my seat, I made my way towards the exit, hoping for a moment of peace. To my surprise, I heard the soft rustle of silk skirts and turned to see the gentleman's wife rushing to join my side.

"Please forgive my husband" she panted, her voice laced with sincere contrition. "His competitive personality often gets the best of him"

"It is quite alright" I assured her with a forced smile, intending to take my leave. But before I could take a single step, she extended her hand towards me, her eyes twinkling with excitement.

"Amelia Thorne" she introduced herself.

I took her hand in mine and offered my name in return. "Lilith Grimes"

Amelia studied me for a moment, a curious smile playing on her lips. "I am quite taken by your eyes"

"Mhm" I responded, cringing from her compliment. It was unoriginal, i've heard it too many times.

"They are remarkably blue" she continued, her gaze unwavering. "Do they ever pain you?"

I arched an eyebrow, intrigued by her question. "Do your eyes pain you?" i replied sarcastically.

She looked momentarily perplexed before replying, "No, they are but a dull shade of brown"

A smile tugged at the corners of my mouth as I replied, "I have a fondness for things dull and dark"

Her eyes carefully trailed down my body, "I can tell"

We shared a laugh, the tension between us dissipating like morning mist.

Amelia bit her bottom lip, rocking back and forth on her heels. "Care to join me for a glass of lemonade?"

As the days went on we grew closer, seeking comfort in each other's company. I used to despise dancing, and music until Amelia showed me how exhilarating it was.

My eyes were glued to Amelia as she did simple ballet turns, her movements a delicate symphony of grace and beauty. Her every step seemed to defy gravity, a testament to her undeniable charm.
