The Move

new beginnings

I wake up to the truck stopping and getting out in park. I open my eyes and look around as we are sitting in the driveway of our new house. My mouth falls open in awe, it's a beautiful farm house in a beautiful neighborhood.

We get out and start unloading our bags as I'm looking around, I notice a cute boy that lives next door playing basketball and he waves at me. I smile and wave back as I realize that it's Hayes Grier and I instantly start freaking out on the inside.

Once everything is inside I start unpacking as I hear a knock on the door so I go downstairs and open it, Hayes Grier and his family are standing at the front door. I stand there in shock for a minute as my parents walk to the door and introduce themselves. I snap back into reality and notice Hayes staring at me and I feel myself starting to blush. I introduce myself to everyone and they invite us over for dinner.

I run upstairs to start getting ready, I decide to keep the clothes I'm already wearing on and just put a little makeup on. I find my mascara, concealer, and blush and put it on and I fixed my braid then put on some body mist. Once I head back downstairs my parents were putting on shoes and we walked over and knocked on the door. Elizabeth opened it and let us in as she called Nash, Hayes, and Sky down.

My parents walked into the kitchen as I stayed in the living room with Nash Hayes and Sky. I try not to freak out as we sit on the couch then nash asks me if I've seen their Vines and Youtube videos. I laugh as I answer "Yeaaa I'm actually trying not to lose my cool as I talk to yall" they start laughing and then Hayes asks where we moved from. I answer Texas and he says "Ohh that's where the accent is from" as they laugh at me cringing to having an accent. "Literally please never say I have an accent again or I'll cry" I say laughing.

After about an hour of getting to know eachother Elizabeth calls us in the kitchen saying dinner is done. We all start fixing a plate and go to sit around the dinner table. I decide to sit beside Hayes and Nash as they both scoot closer to me and squish me in between them. As we all finish we continue to sit around and tell stories, I just sit back and smile because I'm thinking this move may be good and my dad won't treat me abusively anymore. I'm suddenly broken from my thoughts when Hayes asks me if I'm okay and I smile and answer "Yea I'm perfect, just enjoying this new beginning" and he smiles back as he whispers "I am too".

After we clean up dinner me Hayes and Nash exchange numbers and plan to hang out tomorrow. We all then say our goodbyes and goodnights before my parents and I walk back over to our house. As soon as we walk in the house my dad looks at me and starts yelling "Why are you being such a whore hanging out with those boys!" as he yanks my arm and squeezes it until my mom stops him. I instantly start crying because of embarrassment, my mom has never seen him abuse me before. She instantly runs to me to check on me as I promise her I'm okay before running up to my room.

Once I get to my room I lock the door and hear my mom yelling and crying at my dad. I sigh and decide to take a cold shower to try and help me relax. After I change into some sleep shorts and a big tee, as I'm brushing my hair my phone starts ringing and I see Hayes is facetiming me. I instantly smile and run to answer it, once the camera comes up I realize my face still looks blotchy from crying and I pray that Hayes doesn't notice it.

"Heyyy emmaboo" hayes smiles and he answers, I just laugh and ask "Emma boo?" He lightly blushes as he explains that is my new nickname for him. I then tell him that his new nickname for me is Hayesieboo as he laughs. He then asks "whats wrong it looks like you've been crying?" My eyes start to water a little bit as I answer "nothing really just my dad". I could tell by the look on his face that he didn't believe me and he opens his mouth to answer until I see Nash walk in in the background. Nash yells "heyyyy emmaaaa" I smile and say "heyyyy nashhhh" back. Hayes then looks back at the camera and says "Emma really what's wrong you can tell us or even just me I'll make nash leave". I sigh and my eyes start watering again as I answer " Its my dad and please don't tell your family, but he abuses me" I continue to tell them everything he has done and by the time I finish I realize I'm crying again and I try to wipe away the tears as much as I can but they keep falling. All of a sudden Hayes ends the facetime and not even 20 seconds later he texts me to open my front door.

I quickly run downstairs and open the door, instantly Hayes and Nash engulf me with a big hug as I continue to cry. They follow me up to my room and I tell them to be quiet so my dad doesn't hear us. I continue to tell them more about my dad and they start tearing up. Nash suddenly gets a facetime from his friend Cameron, another famous Viner and Youtuber, he answers and Cam asks him where he is. Nash answers and explains that we are new neighbors. Nash then makes a shocked face and I ask him what's up. Nash still shocked says "Oh my god you and Cam totally look alike, you could pass as siblings!" I just laugh and he points the camera towards me and realize he's right me and Cam do look alike. Then I say "Well my mom has told me before that I do have a brother and sister, but I doubt me and Cameron are actually related. My parents actually never told me much about where I'm from or who my family is." We continue to talk and Nash and Hayes actually cheer me up until we realize it's midnight and we should all go to sleep.

I follow them downstairs and give them both hugs and thank them for coming over to cheer me up. After they leave I go back upstairs and text them in a group chat "can't wait to hang with y'all tomorrow!! ❤️" and they both answer immediately with "we can't wait either hope you sleep well!!❤️" I smile as I lay in bed and drift off to sleep.
