The next day was Saturday. I went to Xanthe's house early in the morning. Uncle Li and my father were good friends during the Cultural Revolution, although they don't see each other as often now, but they still keep up with their promise made more than ten years ago. Sigh, it is really
I don't understand what these intellectuals are thinking.
"Oh, it's Cain! What a surprise!" The door was opened by Aunt Li. She covered her mouth and laughed: "I haven't seen you for so many years. I didn't expect that Cain has grown up to be such an elegant man. Please come in."
"Auntie. I'm here to see Xanthe." When I found that Aunt Li was looking at me with a fiery gaze as if she were looking at her son-in-law, I swallowed the three words of Xanthe in my mouth desperately.
"Xanthe, she's in her dormitory. You can go and find her. Haha, my husband and I are about to leave. The two of you young people should have a good chat at home." Aunt Li smiled broadly as she kicked her husband hard on his butt who was still sitting on the sofa without saying anything. This head of the family could only sigh with a bitter smile: "Yes yes, haha, today Cain will take care of Xanthe well. She has always been very concerned about you."
Oh my God! It seems that this house has more in common with mine than I thought. Both of us have asthma:) Xanthe ran downstairs when she heard a noise. "It's Cain! Are you coming to see me? Haha, I'm so happy!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me into her bedroom.
To be honest, I have been in many girls' dormitories before but never seen such a special one. Xanthe's dormitory is as clean as if she has OCD. The whole room is pink and very feminine. What catches my eye most is the imported pink piano on the left corner of the room.
"Cain, you've always loved listening to piano music since childhood, right?" Xanthe sat down at that piano and played a few notes softly before saying, "So I begged my mother to buy me this piano. I hope I can play it for you every day in the future." 7
I sat on her bed and glanced at the dressing table without any emotion. According to my past experience, Xanthe's words are not worth listening to. The more she says beautifully, the worse you will be hurt.
"Ah, right. I forgot what Cain wanted to drink!" Xanthe hurriedly stood up.
"The coffee is ready." I said casually. "Then wait for me, Cain." She went out. Good opportunity! I quickly ran to the dressing table and opened the drawer to search through it. Soon I found a white envelope with Fay's name on it. It seemed that there was another thin letter inside. "This must be it," I thought, stuffing this envelope in my underwear pocket.
"Cain. What are you looking for?" A gentle voice suddenly came from behind me, and I was startled. I turned around abruptly. It was Xanthe, who had nothing in her hands but still smiled sweetly on her face, but her eyes were cold enough to freeze people.
I calmed down and said calmly, "I just want to see what kind of cosmetics my fiancee usually uses. I wanted to give you a surprise on your birthday. Ha ha, failure, it was discovered!"
"Oh?" The cold eyes suddenly melted, and Xanthe coquettishly held my hand: "Cain. I'm so happy that you still remember my birthday. Haha, although I know it's a lie, but I am really very happy."
"Do you really not trust me?" I said with a bitter smile. Xanthe stared at me in silence, sighed and said, "Cain, I know you too well. Every time you lie, your ears tremble slightly. And you always think that people's bedrooms are hell gates, they will never come without purpose. But I won't ask what brought you here. As long as I can see you, I'm happy!"
Damn it, she has seen through me completely. I covered my head with my hands and asked her what kind of conspiracy did she have against herself? "Where is my coffee?" I changed the topic to ask.
"Still steaming with milk. You never drink instant coffee, do you?" Xanthe leaned her head lightly on my shoulder and held me tightly around my arm, so tight that I could feel the soft touch of her voluptuous breasts. That kind of stimulation made me shiver all over, and my brain was about to explode from the noise.
"Cain, why can't you ever feel my love?" Xanthe said softly. "I have always tried to love my fiancee since I was a child and only loved him." Her beautiful hair brushed against my nose, making me itch and smell her feminine fragrance naturally. My mouth became dry. "I've always been gentle with him and willing to give everything for him. But he has always avoided me and opposed me. He never thought that all I did was actually for him!" She raised her head and hugged my neck.
"Will you kiss me? Kiss this fiancée who has been hurt by you." Her pink lips slowly approached mine, and her eyes flashed with neon-like colors. I was already numb all over my body, standing there motionless, although I knew that being kissed would bring unknown terrible disasters, but for some reason I couldn't move at all.
"Cain! You bastard who doesn't pay back your debts, get out of here!" A thunderous roar reverberated down the street. I suddenly woke up and gently pushed her away, pulling open the curtains.
"That woman again!" Xanthe frowned angrily. She saw that little girl got a loudspeaker from somewhere
The man, not caring about pedestrians' eyesight, was shouting at this window. I made a V sign to her.
"I borrowed a dollar from that guy last time, and I didn't expect her to chase me here!" I explained to Xanthe as I ran downstairs. "So Xanthe, sorry, I have to leave."
Xanthe walked to the window with a stern face, and said angrily, "Do you really like Cain so much? I will never let you take him away."
"I've said it before, I don't like that guy!" he argued.
"You should know that I, Cain and you are like three straight lines." Xanthe said as if she hadn't heard a word. "Of these two straight lines, only one can intersect with Cain, while the other must part ways!" So we need to have a race, a bet on Cain's life. The loser will be erased from Cain's life forever!"
I shook my head desperately. Although unwilling, I had to admit that Xanthe was a genius in any aspect. No one has ever won her in anything since she was young, and even me who thought highly of intelligence often got played by her. This simple guy is doomed to lose.
She stared at Xanthe without blinking for a long time, and then she nodded slowly. "I agree. But I will decide how to play." Oh my God! What was that little girl thinking? It's one-sided competition! I want to kick her with all my strength.
"It's up to you." Xanthe replied proudly.
"Very good." A mysterious smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, "Then we will peel apples in that room where Chloe died on the night of the next day. If anyone finishes peeling first and the apple skin doesn't break, then he wins."
Xanthe fell silent. "How come you were so arrogant just now, and are afraid now?" she said sarcastically.
"Okay, I promise!" Xanthe looked at me calmly and sighed, saying, "Cain, you must know how much I love you!"
