The Next Day...

5:35pm

Bey Pov

I wiped the sweat off my forehead as I mowed the grass in my lawn. It's been so hot these past few months.

I grinned to myself thinking of me and Megan's kiss yesterday. I know there is something's she's not telling me. That bruise has to be from something physical and I know it.

"Miss. Beyoncé!!" I heard a little voice shout.

I smiled looking across the street, seeing Azari waving at me from the front door.

She's gon get in trouble I know that. She knows she's not suppose to open that front door by herself.

"Can you come eat with us againnnnnn!" I was about to answer but Azari got snatched up by Megan.

I chuckled knowing Megan had snatched her up for opening the door.

By the look on Megan's face she didn't look happy at all. Usually Megan is gentle with Azari but maybe something is pissing her off today.

Maybe I'll go over there after a quick shower.

45 Minutes Later...

6:20pm

I walked across the street to Megan's house. We still haven't really gotten the chance to talk about our kiss and I know I really enjoyed it but I wanna know how Megan feels.

I knocked on the door and waited patiently for Megan to open it. After a few seconds that door opened revealing a...Megan I've never seen before.

I furrowed my eyebrows seeing how upset she looked. "Everything ok? You look really upset" I said.

"That's what you came ova' hea' fa'? To tell me how upset I look?" Well dang.

"No I came over to talk to you about some things. It wasn't my intention to tell you that but you do look very upset." I said calmly.

She sighed and opened the door "Just come in Beyoncé." She said with no emotion behind her voice.

I didn't like the energy I was feeling right now. Maybe I could try to cheer her up a little bit.

I sat down on the couch while Megan locked up the door. She came and sat on the couch and I observed her for a second.

"What's going on Meg?" I questioned.

"Why do you always ask me that Beyoncé? I'm fine. Nothing is wrong with me." She said.

"Because I care about you Megan. I've been interested in you since I first met you and you pull me in. I know that bruise wasn't caused by you being "clumsy" Megan. What's going on Megan?" I said seriously.

She stayed silent and I sighed. I moved over on the couch so I was right next to her. "Megan you know you can trust me...I'd never do anything to hurt you" I said truthfully.

"You don't know how many times I've heard that.." she said lowly.

What?

"What do you mean?"

"I was in an abusive relationship Beyoncé. I was with him for six years. He treated me just fine at first but out of no where he just started being abusive. I forgave him constantly and I was planning to leave him but I got pregnant. He started treating me better but he still verbally abused me from time to time, but I thought that maybe us having a baby would change him. After I had Azari he started abusing me again. I thought I would never get out. Azari was still a baby and I barely had anything. I knew eventually that I would have to get out so I started doing what I loved which was being a real estate agent. I got my license and started making money of my own. As Azari got older I noticed his anger shifting towards her and I couldn't have that. Azari was such a daddy's girl and she loved him, but that change quickly. One night Azari walked into him hitting me and it traumatized her. She didn't speak, run around like she usually does. I knew that was my sign that he was starting to get careless. I sent Azari over to my best friend's house while I figured out a plan to leave. He didn't even care that Azari was at her house because he was so focused on hitting me. I bought this house and a bunch of furniture for me and Azari. I packed our stuff up and on the night I planned to escape I only had a few things left to pack for Azari. I tried to pack as quickly and quietly as I could but he caught me right as I was finishing. I fought as hard as I could and he almost had me part of the fight resulted in the huge bruise you seen on my back. I try not to think about it anymore because me and my baby are free now. We can live our life without any worry." She said and I was honestly in shock.
