**Chapter 5 of "My Roommate Seems to Be Bullying Me"**

Someone I’ve known for less than half a year is telling me to stay away from someone I’ve known since birth.

At this moment, the frustration and anger I felt were greater than any surprise or confusion.

"I won’t let you speak ill of Fang Ji-ge. You say you’re the same type as him, so should I also keep my distance from you?"

Qi Shang’s voice was muffled. "Xia Qi, are you really this stupid or just pretending?"

This only added fuel to the fire.

I blew up immediately.

With all my might, I yelled at Qi Shang, "If you don’t want it, then don’t eat it! Stay away from me!"

After saying that, I decisively turned and walked toward the stairs, clearing my throat around the corner.

Damn… I yelled so loudly that my throat felt a bit sore and metallic.

Having exerted so much effort, I hoped Qi Shang would learn to show me some respect.

I stayed in the dorm for a long time, long enough for my anger to simmer down, before Qi Shang finally sauntered in.

His walk was no longer abnormal.

I began to suspect he was already fine and was just using me for free labor.

I decided to ignore him from now on.

At least for a month, I wouldn’t talk to him!

But an hour later, I broke my resolve.

"Qi Shang! Why is my clothes on your bed?"

I yanked a corner of my hoodie off his bed. I had been looking for it everywhere and had asked Qi Shang, who claimed he hadn’t seen it.

The hoodie was wrinkled, though I didn’t know what had happened to it.

Qi Shang looked away awkwardly.

"I was going to ask you the same thing. How did your clothes end up on my bed?"

It was simply unreasonable!

Dealing with such an unreasonable person seemed pointless. I threw the hoodie into the sink with a heavy hand, scrubbing it while venting my frustration.

"Maybe it was just mistakenly picked up with the laundry…"

"I’ll compensate you for one. Send me the link."

"Hey, getting so worked up isn’t good for your health…"

Qi Shang lingered by the bathroom door, nagging incessantly. I faintly heard my phone ringing, so I quickly got up, pushed him aside, and inadvertently smeared some foam on his clothes.

It felt much better now.

It was a call from Fang Ji, but a strange voice answered.

The line was noisy, and it took several repetitions before I understood.

Fang Ji was drunk and passed out, so the bar called his recent contacts to check on him.

Without hesitation, I put the phone in my pocket and headed out.

Qi Shang grabbed me. "What’s going on? Why are you leaving so late?"

Ignoring him, I rushed downstairs and, for once, spent a lot of money on a taxi.

I had never been to a bar before.

My high school friends seemed to like them, always posting about them, and I imagined it to be smoky and chaotic.

I steeled myself, mentally prepared, and pushed open the hidden door.

I immediately saw Fang Ji sprawled over a table.

I paid for the drinks.

Ugh, there went 500 yuan before it had even warmed up.

Drunk people are heavy. I struggled to get him onto a bench outside to sober up. I couldn’t get an address out of him, which left me stumped.

We had only been apart for a few hours, but he was this drunk. He must have had some upsetting news.

I couldn’t just wait around. I started searching for nearby hotels on my phone, quickly calculating the cost-benefit ratio, not noticing the hot breath and alcohol smell on my face.

"Xia Qi?"

Fang Ji slurred my name. I tilted my head slightly, and my lips brushed against something as light as a feather.

My mind went blank for a moment.

Before I could analyze what it was, my arm was yanked with such force that I almost flew.

"Damn—"

The sound cut off when I saw who had arrived.

Qi Shang had followed me.

And… he looked extremely off.

Describing him as fierce and menacing would be an understatement.

My arm was grabbed with such force it felt like my bones might snap.

"What are you doing?"

"What’s wrong with you… it hurts!"

He roughly pulled me forward a step. "I’m asking what you’re doing!"

It wasn’t that I was deliberately stuttering or avoiding him. It was just that he looked too terrifying.

He glared at me for a while before letting me go.

"Xia Qi, you really are something!"

He gritted his teeth, crouched down with his head in his hands, then suddenly stood up.

He looked distressed, pacing back and forth in front of me.

Instead of burning with rage, he seemed… heartbroken.

"I can’t bear to touch you or move you a bit, and I’ve turned into a pervert.

"And you? Kissing a guy in a bar? Are you going to find a hotel room later?

"Why are you pretending to be so stupid in front of me? Is it fun to mess with me?"

I was stunned by the rapid-fire questioning.

It was a jumbled mess, and it took a while to piece together what was going on.

He actually thought I was kissing Fang Ji?

Wait, did we really kiss just now?

I was horrified and quickly replayed the scene in my mind.

It shouldn’t have been a kiss, just a brush against the face.

"Qi Shang…"

I widened my eyes, the person too close to focus on.

My startled exclamation was blocked, inadvertently giving him the chance to capture my breath and consciousness.

His thumb was pressed behind my ear, and I could feel my pulse speeding up.

"I’m not thinking about your feelings anymore."

He pulled back slightly, his voice hoarse, his fingers slowly rubbing my earlobe. "I’m not worried about whether you’ll hate me or find me disgusting."

As he leaned in for another kiss, I instinctively covered his mouth and pushed him away.

His once fiery gaze suddenly dimmed.

"It’s not Qi Shang… What I was going to say is, I didn’t kiss Fang Ji… Did you misinterpret the angle? Look at Fang Ji; he’s so drunk, how could he… Huh? Who are you?"

Fang Ji, who had been slumped on the bench, was being embraced by a black-haired man in a trench coat, who was trying to put him into a car.

I quickly stepped forward and grabbed the man.

I remembered a classmate mentioning such common occurrences in bars.
