The Ebb and Flow

4 1 1

I got a seed
From the fruit of a tree
It was planted in the ground
Then suddenly it started to sprout

Two tiny, little leaves grew
With bright green and yellow hues
Now I had to give it care
Plenty of water, soil and air

In spring, it had certainly sprung out of the soil
From the earthen ground where the gardener toiled

In summer, it started to bear some fruit
The trunk was thick and deep were its roots
It's success was sweet, but I knew it wouldn't last
Just like the trees, that before it, had passed

In autumn, soon, the tree had died
But gone through all its stages of life
The old ones had gone, but there was life for the new
So that they, also, must see days when the gentle breeze blew

In winter, everything is gone
We can last through the night, though the summer, we long
The troubles are tough
But, together, hold on

In the monsoon, the rains had begun
To water the plants, from the soil, as they sprung
To start the whole cycle once again
Of happiness, sorrows, joy and pain.
