arendale.wishart: when i had first been asked to represent australia, i turned it down as i wanted to remain as an american citizen. however, when i was asked again, my parents encouraged me to say yes and i changed my nationality. if it wasn't for them, i would have never made it this far. as an athlete, you always strive to be at the top of your respective sport and i was able to climb that ladder thanks to them. i didn't believe that i would be put on the court as my teammates are far better shooters than i am, even when they were injured i didn't think i would be called upon, i was okay with it as simply being apart of the team felt like enough for now. but, the coaches trusted me enough and i was brought onto the court. i've had some people ask what i think about when i'm playing and to be honest... nothing. my mind is always blank, even when the team i'm playing with is losing. until the umpire blows their whistle and ends the game, i just keep going. i truly love this sport and i hope i can continue doing what i do for a long time
