The Mystery Of The Missing Pickle

Chapter 2

"Im hungry." Jess says. Jack,Eve,And Jess had just woken up and were all eating breakfast. "Well- you're eating food." Jack says. "Jack,didn't the king give you money? Jess asks Jack. "Yeah. Around 10,000 dollars." Jack tells him. Jess's eyes widen. "I've got an idea guys!" Jess exclaims. "Instead of eating whatever this is, lets go get some premium donuts!" He says. "Hey I cooked this myself!" Jack says. "Sorry Jack, but he's right. This doesn't taste great." Eve says. Jack groans. "I'll get the car." Jack says. In a 10 minute drive, they arrive to a store called "Premium Doughnuts"

"I dont think ill have a donut. Ive got this diet so I can't eat sugar." Jack says. "More for me I guess!" Jess exclaims before running up to the cashier. Jack and Eve are left by the car. "Are you not gonna go get a donut?" Jack asks Eve. "No, I didn't want to leave you alone here." Eve says. Jack smiles. "So uhh, about Doc-" Jack is interrupted by Jess "HEY! IM GONNA NEED SOME MONEY JACK!" Jess yelled from the shop. Jack groaned. Eve grabs his hand and they walk into the Donut store. There weren't much people in the store. Maybe 3 or 4 people. The cashier had curly,long black hair and sunglasses. "What you want, jester?" The cashier asks. " I'll have a Plain glazed donut." He says.

The cashier grabs a glazed donut and hands it to him. "Yall got a Premium Doughnuts subscription?" The cashier asks. Jack shakes his head. "Well, What donut do you want, dude in hat?" The cashier asks. "Oh, no thank you! I'm on a diet." Jack tells him. "Come on, have a donut. They taste AMAZING." The cashier says. Jack looks confused. "Uh. I said im on a diet." Jack says. The chef popped out from behind the wall. "Oh, No, No, No. Once you have a taste of our donuts, you'll never want to go back." The chef says.

The chef and the cashier's eyes seemed to have been reddening. Eve,Jack, and Jess started walking backwards slowly. A strong guy stops them. He was irregularly huge, more people stopped eating their donuts and got up. "Eat a donut, Jack" They all say in unison. "Eat a donut, EAT A DONUT, EAT A DONUT." This time, the cashier, the chef, and the other people in the store were all chanting it. They all start to transform. The cashiers sunglasses disintegrate. So does the chefs hat.  They all start to grow antlers, and their eyes have all become fully red. Their mouths start to grow. In only a few more seconds, their horrifying transformation was finished.

Now it was clear what the monsters were. "They're.... They're cucumbers!" Jack says, terrified. "RUN!" Jess yells. The three all run away but the cucumbers are faster than them and they had nowhere to go. They could only dodge the cucumbers and pray that they live through the attack. Jack dodges a kick thrown by a cucumber and throws a knife at it. It becomes halfway submerged into the cucumbers forehead. The cucumber squeals and dashes toward Jack. Jack barely gets out of the way and the cucumber runs into a table. It turns his head and grabs the table. It rips it in half and throws it at Jack and Eve.

Another cucumber is accidentally in the firing range and gets hit and falls. When the dust clears, The cucumbers body is shown. It's cut in half. Cucumber juice is everywhere. Eve,Jack, And Jess jump behind the counter as the other pickles mourn the dead body of the other pickle. It felt like Jacks heart was beating a million miles a second. He was wheezing and so was Jess and Eve. "How are cucumbers here? They went extinct after the pickle killed them!" Eve whispers, to not alert the cucumbers of their location. "I don't think we should be caring about that! There are cucumbers that will stop at nothing to kill us!" Jess exclaims.

The cucumbers turn their heads swiftly and Jack,Eve, and Jess start to become pale. Jack crawls to the kitchen,quietly to find tools. Eve looks at Jack and shakes his head at him but unfortunately, He doesn't see her and goes anyways. He makes it into the kitchen and gets up to see what potential weapons he could find on the shelves. He then finds a few donuts and a butcher knife. "I can make this work." Jack whispers to himself. He crawls back to behind the cashier wall. " Guys, I can distract them. Get out of the store so my plan can work." Jack says. "What is your plan?" Jess asks. Jack didnt explain and jumped over the counter.

"LETS GO!" Jack yells.

Jack stabs the butcher knives into a cucumber and takes them out again. He then fights the rest of the cucumbers to start a diversion so Jess and Eve can escape the store. They then get out and Jack knows it's time for him to execute his plans. He grabs a donut and puts his hand in his pocket. He then grabs his bag of celestial crystals. He opens it and grabs an sparkling orange one.  "I hope this does what i think it does! Jack says. He submerges the celestial crystal in the donut and supercharges it. He then throws it in one of the cucumbers face. Jack then tries to run but is slapped in the back and flung out of the store. His face is slapped on the concrete. Then the donut explodes.Cucumber juice and donut frosting sprays everywhere.

Luckily, Jess and Eve were out of the blast zone but Jack wasnt as fortunate. His clothes were partly burned and were covered with the remains of the cucumbers and donut and had been blackened by the smoke. His face was bloody. "No!" Eve exclaims. "Oh god..." Jess says.  Jack then has a dream.  He starts floating in a dark, empty void. Then, a huge eye appears. Jack was confused. "What are you?" Jack asks the eye. "I'd like to help you on your quest for the missing pickle." The eye says. Jacks eyebrow raises. "So, are you going to tell me where to go and stuff for my quest?" Jack asks the eye. "No, i'm afraid i can't do that." The eye says. "Gosh, today is just full of disappointment. Where even am I? Is this a dream?" Jack ponders.

"Not really, you are in an unconscious state, but this isn't a dream. More like a message from a different world." The eye says. "So what is the message you want to send to me?" Jack asks the eye."I just want you to know this. The king of oyingozi has created new, very powerful cucumbers. Just like the ones you went against at that donut store. He's using them to protect his country. Thing is, hes also got other powerful vegetables under his sleeve. He wants to destroy all of pickle city,Jack. But specifically, hes looking for you." The eye tells Jack. "I have to go now. I'll be back soon." He says. "Wait no!" Jack exclaims before he is sent back to the world. He wakes up in bed as Jess and Eve notice hes awake. "Oh god... How long have i been out?" Jack asks, tired. We were afraid you weren't going to wake up in time, but luckily, you have only been out for a day." Eve tells Jack. "Which means..." Jess says.

"The case starts tomorrow!" Jack exclaims.
