Chpt 1: "The Unexpected Outcome"

Kai's POV:
Empty husk of my former self fading to nothingness, vision blurred, face facing upward, the moonlight radiating downward, left hand applying necessary pressure to the side of my neck, blood dangerously trying to spurt outward, skin whitening, death embracing my weakened body, environment silenced, attacker nowhere near, our mission unsuccessful, life rapidly ceasing, accepting the outcome, family not there to comfort me, this truly was unexpected.

Nya's POV:
Moonlight radiating downward, our environment eerily silenced, everyone close to my heel, trying to locate my brother, Kai's unnoticed disappearance a concern, Zane's scanner malfunctioning each time he tried to search for his body signature, this only ever occurred if they weren't among the living anymore.

Lloyd's POV:
Silently separating myself, deciding to confidently search for Kai myself, concerned for my brother, our mission was to simply do reconnaissance on a possible murderer, somehow though, we couldn't find any evidence of their presence, what caused me more unwanted worry was why they decided to target and single out Kai.

Cole's POV:
Vision swaying, unintentionally halting, breathing laboured, hyperventilation increasing, an unusual aura of death lingering closer, dreading the condition we will find Kai caused extreme distress.

Jay's POV:
Closely to Nya's side, an unwelcoming sense of dread poisoning our environment, all of our paces slowing to a halt, Cole already paused, his skin paled and a visible expression of discomfort displayed itself on his face.

Kai's POV:
Surrounded in complete darkness, environment remained silent, body floating in darkened space, vision clouded, heart at an unexpected halt, presumably deceased, strangely, something didn't seem right.

Paralysed, incapable of searching for any sign or clue on where I had awakened to, a strange, but faint, red light appeared from above, slowly expanding, noticing it nearing closer to me, not capable of defending myself from the anomaly, calmly deciding to accept my fate, hoping by the end I would've peacefully passed on.

Lloyd's POV:
Reconnecting with the team, everyone motionless, paralysed by fear, deciding to investigate, my pupils immediately contracted, skin paling, body unknowingly trembling, there in an isolated section of the suburb laid Kai's deceased body, his cause of death, bled out to death.

Noticing an abnormally in Kai's cause of death, leaning forward, analysing the body closer, coming to the conclusion he had tried to suppress the excessive amount of bleeding, the wound... a bite mark on his neck?

Knowing of such a tale from mythology, such a death is abnormal in our modern life, reanalysing, trying to understand his wound, thankfully a certain Nindroid explained.

Zane: "Lloyd, it would seem Kai died by bite mark to his neck, though seemingly harmless, whoever did this had pierced an artery in his neck, causing him to unfortunately bleed out, what is not normal, such a wound is told in mythology, not reality and is his murderer the one who we had to do a reconnaissance mission for? Or something else that had evaded the Ninjago City police?"

Brown frowning in response, Zane's theories are never not true... so, is Kai's death connected to our mission? Or was he an unexpected casualty?

Truth not visible for the time being, we best prepare ourselves to create an immediate funeral for our brother and the fire ninja, Kai Jay Smith.
