MACKENZIE'S POV
*knock*knock* I froze ,staring at the door as if it were an apparition. But the voice on the side was unmistakable . "MC" you awake ? we've got that group project meeting in twenty minutes!"
It was Crystal . my old roommate and best friend since elementary school . I recognized her from her astonishinly horrible nicknames and her cute bubbly voice always eager for a new piece of information . she ran her own blog called Crystal digest which practically run the whole school news , she knew what was happening with who and all the latest trends . hence , spent most of her vacation days at parties , concerts and other exclusive events .Long story short , she was /is the best at what she did . She was the best friend and roommate I ever had even though we drifted apart from after graduation , because petty arguments over Chen.
My breath caught in my throat .This was the day it all began to fall apart . "yeah, Im up!" I called back , my voice trembling slightly. "I'll be ready in a minute!" my mind whirled with possibilities . I remembered the fight that would happen later , the way my stubbornness had driven a wedge between us .
But now...now I have a chance to make things right . I stood up , heart racing but not with fear this time. This time , it was with hope. Im not sure how or why Id been given this second chance , but I wasn't going to waste it . Not this time .
I moved to the door , hesitating for just a moment before opening it . There stood Crystal , just as young and vibrant as I remembered. The same Crystal I had once lost but now had the chance to hold on to .
"Ready?"Crystal asked with a grin .
I smiled back , a flood of emotions rushing through me . "Yeah ", I said softly , stepping forward." Im ready"....
