MACKENZIES POV

I stormed into my dorm room, my anger simmering beneath the surface . I slammed the door shut behind me, causing Crystal to to look up from her laptop, eyebrows raised. "Whoah, what happened?" Crystal asked, concerned but already guessing from the look on my face that it involved a certain someone.

I threw my bag on the bed , pacing as I tried to find the right words to explain what had just happened. "You won't believe this, Daniel-he... he went to the professor right after class and tried to switch partners." Crystal blinked, surprised."He did what?" "He tried to get out of being paired with me! Like, is it really that awful to work with me? He doesn't even know me, Crystal !" my voice cracked with frustration . "He couldn't even handle being around me for five minutes and already wants to switch.

Crystal leaned back, shaking her head in disbelief. "Wow. Boys really are idiots." I stopped pacing, folding my arms, "I just don't get it. One minute he's playing hero ,and now he can't even stand the thought of working with me. It's like I'm some kind of parasite, a plague."

Crystal stood up and walked over to me, putting a hand on my shoulder , "MC, calm down. Daniel is , like the king of mixed signals. That guy doesn't know what he's feeling half the time. And trust me , it's not you. He's probably just trying to keep his perfect little world in order, and you threw him off balance." I let out a frustrated sigh , still feeling the sting of Daniel's actions. "I shouldn't be so worked up about this . It's just.....it hurts , you know?"

Crystal nodded understandingly, "I know , but you can't let this get to you. Boys are dumb, especially rich ones with egos bigger than their heads. Let's not let his drama ruin our day." I was about to say something when Crystal's face lit up with an idea."Hey, you know what we need right now?" "What?" I asked , slightly curious despite my lingering anger. "A trip to that new café downtown- Frost&Flavour . Haven't you heard about it? Everyone's been raving about their chocolate cream lattes and the cakes-to die for ."

At the mention of chocolate, my eyes lit up. I might have been upset , but there was no way I could resist anything involving chocolate. "Chocolate ? say no more, I'm in." Crystal grinned."I knew that would do the trick. You're a sucker for chocolate." I smiled for the first time since the argument with Daniel. " Guilty as charged." The thought of indulging in decadent desserts was enough to pull me out of my bad mood, at least for now. I quickly rummaged through my wardrobe , picking out a cute but comfortable outfit for our café outing . Crystal did the same , and within minutes , we were ready to go.

As we walked out of the dorm and made our way toward the café, I felt a bit lighter . Maybe Crystal was right-boys were stupid, and Daniel didn't deserve to occupy my thoughts. At least for the next few hours, all I wanted to think about was chocolate. And maybe , just maybe , I'd figure out how to deal with him later. For now , I had cake to look forward to.

CRYSTAL'S POV

I couldn't help but grin as Mackenzie and I stepped into Frost&Flavour, the newest and trendiest café in town. The place was like something out of an interior design magazine-soft lighting, plush velvet seats, and walls decorated with minimalist art. Plants hung from the ceiling, giving the space a warm, earthy vibe , and the scent of freshly brewed coffee and chocolate filled the air. "Wow, this place is amazing," Mackenzie said, her eyes wide as she took it all in.

"Told you it would be worth it the trip, I replied with a satisfied smirk. I always had a knack for finding the best spots in town, and this café was no exception. We found a cozy corner booth by the window and settled in. I quickly scanned the menu and raised and eyebrow at Mackenzie. "So , what's it going to be? Let me guess- something chocolate? Mackenzie chuckled , glancing at the menu."You know me too well, I'll take the triple chocolate cream latte." "Called it!" I  said with a grin before placing my own order for a caramel Americano.
