Fluke was called to the professor's office one afternoon, something that immediately set his nerves on edge. As he walked down the hallway toward the room, he couldn't shake the anxious feeling in his chest.

Professor Suprata, the head of the department, had a reputation for being strict but fair, and though Fluke had always been on her good side, it was never comforting to be summoned out of the blue.

When he entered the office, Professor Suprata greeted him with a warm smile, "Fluke, you are here. Take a seat".

Fluke did as he was told, though he couldn't help but feel a knot of tension in his stomach. The professor had always spoken highly of him—he was the class topper, after all, and had a reputation as a well-behaved student. Still, the weight of the moment pressed down on him, and he felt his palms begin to sweat.

Once he sat down, Professor Suprata wasted no time getting to the point. "Actually, I called you here because the results of the scholarship exam you had taken for a chance to study abroad had come in."

Fluke immediately tensed up, unsure of what was coming next.

She went on to say, "You had not only passed but had excelled, earning a full scholarship to a university in Los Angeles. The scholarship would cover everything—tuition, accommodation, and food."

Fluke sat there, stunned, as the professor spoke.

She added "if you performe well at the university, you might even be eligible for a stipend."

Professor Suprata handed him the documents, all the paperwork he would need to review and sign.

Fluke accepted them, though his hands trembled slightly as he took the stack of papers.

"Thank you so much, Professor!" He thanked her, though the words came out a bit shaky, the magnitude of the news not quite sinking in yet.

For someone from a not-so well-to-do family like his, this was life-changing. The scholarship meant security and a future that he had only ever dreamed of.

"Congratulations to you, Fluke" She congratulated him, "I am really proud of you and your achievements."

Fluke had a hard time composing himself

She then dropped the bomb on him " You will need to leave for Los Angeles as soon as you are done with current course."

This shocked Fluke. He wasn't expecting be having to leave so quickly.

"You don't need to wait for the final results of your studies here to start at the new university." She said.

Then, with a warm smile, she handed him his plane ticket, a simple gesture that made the whole situation feel even more real. "Here's your ticket. Our university took care of it"

Fluke took the ticket, his emotions swirling inside him. On the surface, he knew he should feel nothing but gratitude and excitement. After all, this was an opportunity many people could only dream of.

But as he left the professor's office and walked back to the now-empty classroom, a different emotion settled in the pit of his stomach.

Sitting at his desk, he stared at the plane ticket in his hand, the small piece of paper suddenly feeling like it weighed a ton. He had done it—he had earned the scholarship.

But the joy he expected to feel didn't come. Instead, there was a deep sense of conflict. Ohm. He hadn't told Ohm anything about the scholarship application, hadn't even mentioned that he had taken the exam. The weight of that decision now pressed down on him.

Fluke knew that this scholarship was everything he had worked for. It was his ticket to a better future, to opportunities that his family could only hope for. But at the same time, the thought of leaving Ohm behind filled him with a kind of dread he hadn't anticipated.

He thought back to their conversations, the late-night talks that had always made him feel grounded.

Ohm had been his closest friend, someone who understood him in a way no one else did. And more than that, recently, there had been something unspoken between them, something fragile but undeniable.

Fluke couldn't bear the thought of how Ohm might react when he found out. Ohm had no idea that Fluke had applied for the scholarship in the first place. And now, with a plane ticket to Los Angeles in his hands, Fluke realized that he might never see Ohm again if he left.

The professor's words echoed in his mind—this was a chance he couldn't pass up. She was right, of course. For his family, for his future, this was the best possible outcome. But what about Ohm?

Fluke had always thought he would be able to balance both, that he could chase his dreams without losing the people who mattered most to him. Now, faced with the reality of leaving, he wasn't so sure.

He sat there in the empty classroom for what felt like hours, his mind running in circles. Ohm had always supported him, encouraged him to go after his goals. But this felt different. This felt like he was walking away without even giving Ohm a chance to weigh in.

And the worst part was, Fluke knew deep down that Ohm would be hurt—not just by the fact that he was leaving, but by the fact that Fluke hadn't told him about any of it until it was too late.

The thought of Ohm's reaction made his stomach churn. Ohm wasn't just his best friend; he was the person Fluke trusted most in the world. And lately, their friendship had begun to feel like something more, something unspoken but heavy with meaning.

How could Fluke leave without acknowledging that? How could he pack up and leave for Los Angeles, knowing that he might never come back?

Fluke sighed, running a hand through his hair as he continued to stare at the plane ticket. He knew he had to make a decision soon, but every option felt like a betrayal. If he stayed, he would be giving up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If he left, he would be walking away from Ohm—possibly for good.

He would have to face Ohm sooner or later, but right now, he wasn't ready. Not yet.

The room grew quieter as the sun began to set outside, casting long shadows across the floor. Fluke remained at his desk, the plane ticket in his hands and a growing sense of uncertainty weighing down on him.

He had spent so much time chasing after this dream, but now that it was within his grasp, he wasn't sure if it was the future he truly wanted.

One thing was clear: whatever he decided, things would never be the same again.
