📝 NOTE FROM MEOWINGHAM – Alright, this chapter is going to be somewhat similar to BLANK EP 6 but just more, fierce and no – there is no angry sex. (apologetically bows)

Aneung

The bus ride back to the resort was silent, a stark contrast to the lively chatter that filled the morning air. Yui had dozed off against my shoulder, her soft breaths breaking the stillness. I pulled out my phone and sent a quick text to Ar-neung, my heart thrumming with anticipation.

Aneung: Ar-Neung.

Her reply came almost instantly, making my pulse quicken. I half-expected her to be resting too.

Neung: Yes?

Aneung: Can I sleep with you tonight again?

Neung: I think it's safer not to. Your friends will get suspicious. What did you even tell them this morning?

Aneung: I told them I went 'stargazing,' hahaha.

Neung: Lying to them isn't good.

Aneung: What should I have said? 'Oh, I spent the night in Professor Neung's bed while we made love'?

Neung: Aneung!

I grinned to myself, imagining her embarrassment even though she was seated all the way at the front of the bus.

Aneung: I'm kidding.

Neung: Rest well tonight, you must be exhausted.

Aneung: I will. I just thought... Maybe I could spend some time alone with you before sleeping.

Neung: No, stay in your room.

I frowned, the playful smile fading from my face. I could feel the distance in her response, her voice even through text felt like a command.

Neung: Be good. We'll have plenty of time when we're back in Bangkok.

The thought of Bangkok lifted my spirits, the promise of stolen moments together away from prying eyes. But when we reached the resort, the mood shifted. Ar-neung, always so composed, glanced at her watch and hurried off to her room. Something felt off, but I brushed it aside.

"Come on, Aneung." Folk called, snapping me out of my thoughts. Ar-neung's door closed behind her with a thud.

"Coming!" I said, dragging my feet toward my own room, my mind still on her.

After tossing my things onto the couch, I sprawled out, exhausted.

"Oh, I need to give this to Professor Neung," Yui said, catching my attention. My heart raced—this was my chance. I could see her, maybe steal a few minutes alone.

"I'll do it," I blurted out, a little too quickly.

Yui looked at me, surprised. "It's fine, I can go."

"No, no," I insisted, too eager. "You've been working hard all day. Let me help." After some back and forth, I finally convinced her.

I practically sprinted to Ar-neung's room, heart pounding in my chest. I knocked, but there was no answer. I pressed my ear to the door. Silence.

Maybe she's in the shower, I thought. I waited a few minutes, texting her.

Aneung: I have something to pass to you.

No reply. Odd.

I dialled her number, but the call went unanswered, the silence pressing in on me.
