Kakashi's Pov
I’ve dealt with my fair share of weird missions, but nothing prepared me for this. One moment, we’re in an old library searching for a lost artifact, and the next, I’m standing in what looks like a throne room dressed in… well, something I’d rather not talk about.
It all started when Naruto, in typical Naruto fashion, found an ancient book and—without thinking, of course—opened it. I don’t know what he expected, but getting sucked into the book wasn’t high on my list of possibilities.
Now, here I am, standing in front of an ornate mirror in a grand, gothic-looking castle, trying to make sense of my situation. I glance down at myself and can’t help but let out a sigh. Of all the possible roles I could have been assigned, why did I have to end up as the Evil Queen?
The floor-length, black and purple robes are heavy, with gold accents that look a little too royal for my taste. There’s even a crown perched on top of my head. Great.
“Mirror, mirror on the wall...” I muttered sarcastically, rubbing my temples. “Who’s the most confused ninja of them all?”
The mirror, much to my surprise, shimmered in response. I froze, eyes narrowing at the glowing surface. I’d like to think I’m not easily startled, but when inanimate objects start interacting with you, it’s hard not to take a step back.
Before I could react further, the mirror spoke, its voice deep and commanding. “Oh great queen, what is your bidding?”
Fantastic. I really am in some sort of twisted fairytale.
“I’d love to know where my team is,” I said aloud, already tired of this bizarre situation. “But I don’t suppose you’re going to be helpful with that, are you?”
The mirror didn’t respond this time. Of course not.
Sighing, I turned away and took in my surroundings. The castle I found myself in was grand, towering ceilings with dark, imposing stone walls, lined with banners of deep purple and black. It screamed "villain," which, given my current attire, made sense.
I’d been here for a while, wandering through the halls, trying to figure out what had happened. The world we were in wasn’t just any storybook—it was a Disney princess storybook, of all things. I had pieced together that much. I just didn’t know where anyone else was, or how we got here in the first place.
“Naruto, I swear...” I muttered under my breath.
I tried to remember the moment we were pulled into the book. Naruto had been closest to me, but then there was a flash of light, and we were all scattered. I hadn’t seen or heard from any of them since.
Given that this was a fairytale world, I could only assume that they were somewhere out there, each playing a part. If I was the Evil Queen from Snow White, then I had to assume Naruto was probably… Snow White? It made the most sense. A part of me couldn’t help but snicker at the thought of Naruto in a princess dress.
As for the others, I wasn’t sure what roles they’d been thrown into. Sasuke was probably playing the prince, knowing his luck. The irony of that wasn’t lost on me. I could already imagine the annoyed look on his face.
But first things first—I needed to figure out how to get out of this castle. Wandering the halls had only confirmed that I was trapped in this place until the story unfolded. If we were supposed to play through the story, then that meant... what, exactly? Was I supposed to send a huntsman after Naruto?
I walked back toward the large window overlooking the castle grounds. Far in the distance, I could see a forest, dark and dense, exactly like the one from the Snow White story. And beyond that, I thought I could make out a small cottage.
So that’s where Naruto is. In that cottage, oblivious, probably complaining about whatever outfit the story had assigned him. Typical.
“Now, how to get out of here…” I mused, pacing the room.
A few moments later, a knock echoed through the grand chamber doors. I turned, eyebrow raised, as a servant entered—one of the castle’s many faceless, fairytale minions, I guessed.
“Your majesty,” the servant said with a deep bow. “The huntsman has arrived and awaits your orders.”
I blinked. The huntsman? Of course. The next step in the story.
“I see,” I replied, waving my hand dismissively. “Tell him to wait.”
The servant bowed and left, closing the doors behind him. I sighed, leaning against the windowsill. This was a game, one we’d have to play if we were going to escape this bizarre world. If I had to follow the story, fine, I would. But first, I needed to find the others.
Naruto was out there somewhere, and knowing him, he’d find a way to stir up trouble—dressed as a princess or not.
I started to strategize. If Naruto was Snow White, and I was the Evil Queen, then I had a rough idea of how this story would go. My role was to send the huntsman, trick Snow White with the poisoned apple, and try to kill her.
Of course, I had no intention of actually harming Naruto. But we needed to figure out how to play our parts without letting things go too far. If Sasuke was the prince—and I was betting he was—he would need to be the one to break the spell. That much I could handle.
Now, I just had to figure out how to maneuver through this fairytale world without getting us all trapped here forever.
“First things first,” I said, standing up straight and heading toward the door. “Let’s find my team.”
With that, I left the grand chamber, my new role as the Evil Queen solidified. The game had begun, and I needed to play my part if we had any chance of getting out of this storybook world in one piece.
As I walked through the shadowy corridors of the castle, I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself. This was going to be one of those missions, the kind that would live on in stories long after it was over.
And when we finally made it out, I was never going to let Naruto live down the fact that he was, for a brief moment, the fairest princess of them all.
