“Ugh, who is it this time?”
Ishan groaned, groggily sitting up on his bed as the sound of his doorbell ringing filled the room. He switched on the lights, glancing down at the digital clock on his nightstand. 1:23
He sighed, getting down from his bed as the bell rang again. It was late and he wasn't expecting anyone so he was confused who it might be but knew it's definitely someone known cause his building had pretty good security and there way no way they would let any unknown person in.
He opened the door, only to see his favourite bright dimpled smile. Before his sleep-addled mind could process anything, he was engulfed in a tight yet gentle hug. A smile automatically smeared his lips, heart falling in a recognizable ease as the familiar scent clouded his senses. He had missed this.
“Ish.” Gentle, soft, and comforting, Ishan's heart skipped a beat at the tone. He pulled back, a soft smile adorning his lips, matching to the one of his bestfriend who's dimples is definitely going to be his death someday. The hypnotising effect Shubman always had on him should be concerning but he was too in love to give it any thought.
Shubman cupped his face before placing a gentle kiss on his forehead, causing Ishan's heart to be filled with warmth at the soothing touch. “How are you?” He asked, his tone as light as a feather.
Ishan smiled, eyes locking onto Shubman's in a intense contact. “Great.”
“Cool.” Shubman smiled, his thumbs caressing Ishan's cheekbones. “Well, come with me. We're going somewhere.”
Ishan's brows furrowed in bemusement. “Wait, going somewhere? At this time? And also wait a damn minute, what are you even doing here? You were in Punjab, nahi? You-"
“Are ruk ja, ruk ja, meri bullet train, shanti.” Shubman chuckled, his hands on Ishan's shoulders.
Ishan clicked his tongue, shooting him a glare.
Shubman just grinned at him cutely, again pulling him in a hug. “I'm here because I was missing my Ish, nothing else.”
Ishan chuckled, looking up at him while still being in the embrace. “Okay. I'm not even going to question ahead, cause I know you can do anything, dude. You're freaking unpredictable.”
“That I am. Let's go then.” Shubman smiled.
“Bata to kaha leke ja raha hai?” Ishan asked. “On a date or something kya?” He teased, wiggling his eyebrows.
Shubman suppressed a smile, tucking a strand of hair behind Ishan's ear. “Do you want to go on a date with me, baby?” He asked, voice dropping down a decibel.
Ishan pretended to think, tapping his chin for theatrical exaggeration. “I mean, I wouldn't hate that, you're kind of cute.”
Shubman gasped, faking offense. “Kind of cute? How can you even say that, Ish? I'm not kind of cute, I'm adorable, hot, gorgeous and so much more and you know that.” Even though he said that, he was himself cringing internally.
Ishan rolled his eyes playfully, lightly smacking him on his arm. “Chal, chal, jyada ud mat.”
Shubman pouted, looking up at Ishan like a wounded puppy. “You don't love me anymore.”
Ishan laughed at his silly, overly dramatic but adorable bestfriend, that's a very detailed description, his brain pointed out as he turned around to walk back to his room to change for wherever Shubman was taking him.
Shubman held his wrist, pulling him back and then holding him in a back hug. “You don't need to change. We aren't going anywhere fancy.” He said, pretty much knowing what Ishan was going to do.
