As the heroes of Oni hurried Tao away on a stretcher, Benji, Mira, and Daichi exchanged anxious glances. The lobby buzzed with activity, the atmosphere charged with urgency and purpose. They had made it this far, but the looming threat of Nemesis still weighed heavily on Benji's mind.
Moments later, a tall figure emerged from the back, gliding forward with an ethereal grace. His skin shimmered like the night sky, stars and galaxies swirling in an otherworldly dance across his body. Peacebringer radiated an aura of calmness that belied the power he held.
"Welcome to Oni," he said, his voice deep and resonant, echoing with the authority of the cosmos. "I am Peacebringer. We've been alerted to your situation."
Benji stepped forward, feeling both awe and trepidation. "We need your help. Our friend—he's badly injured. We—"
Before he could finish, a second figure joined them—a sleek, agile form with fox-like features and a playful glint in her eyes. Kitsune, with her fiery red hair and cunning demeanor, was an embodiment of grace and mischief.
"What happened?" Kitsune asked, her tone sharp yet compassionate. "We sensed something powerful. Something dark."
"We were attacked," Mira explained, her voice shaking. "Nemesis—he absorbed a power from the temple and... he came after us. We barely escaped."
Peacebringer's cosmic eyes narrowed. "Nemesis is dangerous. His connection to that energy makes him unpredictable, potentially even more powerful than before."
Benji felt a chill run down his spine. "We need to prepare for him. He's not gone—he's still out there."
Kitsune nodded, her expression serious. "Then we must act quickly. What's your plan?"
Benji took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "We need to regroup, understand what we're up against. If he comes after us again, we can't be caught off guard. We need intel on his abilities after absorbing that power."
Peacebringer stepped closer, the air around him shimmering with cosmic energy. "You're right. But first, we need to stabilize your friend. Tao's condition is critical. Let's focus on that before we discuss strategy."
As they spoke, a medic rushed back with updates. "He's stable for now, but we need to operate. The energy he absorbed during the fight is still affecting him."
"Do whatever it takes to save him," Benji urged. "He's important to us."
Kitsune turned her gaze back to Benji. "You've been through a lot. You're not alone anymore. We'll fight together."
Feeling the weight of their support, Benji nodded, determination surging through him. "Then let's make sure we're ready when Nemesis returns."
