Agatha paced around getting ready and ranting to herself about Rio.
"Agatha what do you mean I'll find out, are they coming here? What about the boy, you can't just leave him tied up?
"The house is yours random boy," Agatha called to him , "be sure to tell the revenge seekers I said hi!"
"Agatha!" I hissed, "We can't just leave him tied up in here!"
"Watch me." She answered passively.
"Agatha stop," I stepped in her way of the door, "You can't leave."
"Wait!" The boy had gotten the tape of his mouth and yelled at Agatha, "Take me to the witches road."
I froze...how had he heard about the witches road?
Agatha went deadly still, she walked towards the boy and somewhat violently ripped the remaining tape off his mouth.
"Come again?" She demanded.
"The witches road, I want you to take me there." He said, then like an afterthought he added "please."
I raised a brow, like that was going to work on Agatha.
"The Witches Road doesn't exist." Agatha told him, but her tone of voice told me that wasn't true.
I remembered back to my dreams...
"You're lying." I blurted out.
Agatha tore her attention away from the boy and gazed at me seriously.
"Am I?" She asked almost like a threat.
The boy interjected,
"That's just what real witches say to keep the amateurs out...the road will give you the thing you want most. If you make it to end." He paused, "And I can. I will."
Agatha stared at him for moment, and then she laughed, "You? Survive the witches road, not a chance."
"So it is real." I said, rounding on her, "Tell me about it!"
Agatha glared at me, "So now you want to know too?"
"I already did!" I persisted.
Agatha raised a challenging brow, "How?"
"My dreams," I told her, "I've been hearing about the road for months now. Whispers..."
Agatha suddenly looked intrigued.
"Well, perhaps I can be of some help to you then...oh wait, I don't want to."
"Agatha don't! Tell me, if what this guy says is true than the road could be the answer to all our problems. You could get your powers back, I could get the information about myself I need and he could get...well whatever it is you want."
I could see Agatha's mind churning with the idea, but she shook her head.
"The witches road isn't somewhere you want to go Lorna, and he-"
She pointed directly at the boy, "wouldn't last five minutes."
"But I would." I say, "You know I would, and I can tell, you're thinking about it. Please Agatha, this could be our chance, we could both get what we want."
"It's not that simple." She insisted, "We would need a coven..."
The boy perked up, "A coven?"
"You stay out of this." She growled at him.
I rolled my eyes, "So let's get a coven then, it can't be that hard.
Agatha consider for a second, and then. "Nope, to risky. No time."
Teen stood up, "Come on, there's no way you can outrun these Salem seven people without you powers."
"He's right Agatha." I said.
She paused to pick something up of the floor. I recognized it as her pendant, and there was something inside...
She turned back to us, "Who are you?" She ask the boy.
He went to speak but it came out inaudible.
I looked to Agatha to make sure she'd seen the same thing.
"Say again." She ordered. He tried again, nothing.
"You see that too right?" I whispered to her.
Agatha observed him, "Interesting."
"What?" Teen asked, as though he didn't know we couldn't hear him.
Agatha spoke once more, "Fine, I'm driving." She said.
Only then she realized she and no car.
"You'rere driving then." She told teen and at a very fast pace began walking out the house.
"What do you know about Covens?" She asked us as we walked.
Teen was quick to answer, "Oh, um, just that there drawn together by mysterious forces of fate. And that there the truest form of sister hood and that...oh my god, are you taking us to your coven."
Agatha scoffed, and put on a pair of sunglasses, "Ugh no, those harpies are dust. But we do need a coven for the road."
Agatha stopped talking, I stopped walked. It was there, the foundation of my old home. Now there was graffiti all over the property.
"Evil witch!" And "Stay away!" Were sprayed in red. For a second it almost seemed like Agatha was feeling somehting.
Then she spat on the ground like the very reminder of my mother was a curse. I flinched, it was like spitting on her memory.
But after what she'd done, what she could have done to America...I turned away from the foundation of my fake childhood. That part of my life was over. I would never have those things again...
