The three of us walked in silence on the road. Eventual I spoke, in a hushed tone to Agatha.
"You shouldn't have said those things to him, they weren't fair."
"Oh?"
"You made him feel guilty." I whispered.
Agatha rolled her eyes, "I'm sorry, did I not expressly tell him to not feel guilty?"
"It was what you implied! He didn't mean to hurt Lilia or Jen."
Agatha raised a skeptical brow, "Oh really? How sweet you believe that."
I shook my head at her, "Your horrible you know that."
Agatha smirked.
I glanced back at Billy, he seemed to be lost in his own world.
"He didn't mean to take that boys body." I whispered, "There was a crash, William Kaplan was dead...had Billy's life force not taken over he would've stayed that way."
Agatha scoffed, "Whatever you need to tell yourself dear. But know this...that boy is not stronger than you. Remember that."
I glared at her, "What does that have to do with anything?"
A sly smile tugged at her lips, "Whatever," I mumbled, "I don't even know why I'm bothering with you."
Agatha chuckled to herself.
I glanced back at Billy, "We should keep a look out for Lilia and Jen." I said.
Agatha scoffed, "Please, those two are long gone."
"You survived." I pointed out.
Agatha rolled her eyes, "Yes because I'm exceptional." She said pointedly.
"They are alive!" I argued.
"Ohh okay, and you think there just gonna walk back into the group and be prepared to forgive your brother for what he did."
Billy looked away, his expression pained.
"He didn't mean it." I said in his defence, "I think all of us can relate to losing control, can't we?"
Agatha glowered at my insinuation, "We need to find the next trial." She said, "If they manage to somehow make it there then that's up to them."
I gritted my teeth slightly, "Fine."
A familiar silence fell over the three of us again.
Suddenly I heard Billy's voice in my head "Hey"he said.
"Hey." I replied telepathically, so Agatha wouldn't hear.
"I figured this was a better way to talk." He said.
"Yeah...you know it's kinda weird seeing you in this body. We're the same age now."
I saw him smile softly form the corner of my eye, "Well I'm still your big sister." I said.
"We should start talking this way more often.." he thought to me, "It's a lot easier to talk when no one else can listen."
I chuckled slightly, Agatha gave me a strange look.
"Something amusing you Dear?"
"No." I replied quickly.
Agatha glanced back suspiciously at Billy and I.
"I know that look," she said, "don't think the two of you can telepathically communicate without me knowing."
"I think she's feeling left out." Billy thought to me.
I snickered.
"Oh very funny." Said Agatha.
"This is fun." I thought back to Billy.
Agatha flipped her hair over her shoulder and kept on walking.
We had to pick up the pace a little to catch up with her.
"You know...you can just ask any questions that you have." Agatha said, I raised a brow.
"You being truthful, that's a first."
"Where did Rio go?" Billy asked.
"Not that question." Agatha snapped, "any other queries for your old babysitter? It's the whole reason you bought a ticket to ride, isn't it? I'm your mom's Ex," Agatha paused, almost deliberately, "best friend..." she finished with a smirk.
I glared at her slightly.
"I'll get what I want at the end of the road." Billy told her, "And she's not my mom. I have a mom."
My stomach twisted slightly. I knew Billy, or William or whatever had his own family, but it was a painful reminder that despite having him back, our situations where not the same.
"How angsty..." Agatha muttered.
"Is she really dead." I asked abruptly turning to Agatha.
She studied me momentarily, "Yes. No...maybe?"
"Agatha this isn't a joke..."I said, "was that body hers or not?"
"I did see the body." Agatha admitted.
"Did anyone else." Asked Billy.
Agatha pursed her lips, "It's hard to say."
"Oh great..."
Agatha smirked, "Hey, you want straight answers, ask a straight lady."
I almost chuckled despite myself.
"I see that look." Agatha said with a smirk, "Your thinking we're not so different you an I."
I blushed slightly, but then I paused, caught off guard by the next trial. It was a giant castle.
"That's different..." Billy muttered.
Agatha sighed, "The road is a fickle mistress."
"More vague insight, thank you." Billy remarked with sarcasm.
Agatha looked almost taken aback, "in my expirence..."
He almost laughed, "in your expirence? Really, I honestly belived your expirence would be the key to our success here."
"We're alive!" Agatha growled, "Suceess." She scoffed at him
"Now I wonder if you've ever been on the road at all."
I glanced at Agatha, I'd been thinking the same thing. We walked towards the doors of the trial, over a drawbridge and pushed open the castles large double doors.
