I paced back and forth, trying to process everything. Lilia gone, Rio being death...Agatha being Agatha.
There were just the four of us left now, and one last trial.
My power was flaring up, flicking in my palms...
"Lorna..." Billy's voice brought me back to the present, "Where going to find Agatha." He said.
"Right...."
We left the exit of the previous trial and went back into the road.
"Agatha, there you are..."
She seemed different, like something was off.
"Time to finish the road!" She said harshly.
We followed after her.
"Agatha wait..." something feels off, I tugged on her arm.
Agatha raised a brow, "Oh...does it?"
I glared at her, "You never mentioned your ex girlfriend was death..."
Agatha pursed her lips.
"But that's not it...something doesn't feel right."
Agatha rolled her eyes, "You Maximoff's and your feelings. Come on Lorna, be ready for fireworks!"
Just then Agatha tripped and fell onto the ground. She groaned.
"Wait." I noticed she had tripped over shoes, my converse to be exact.
"What?"
"Our shoes..." illy mumbled, "we're back where we started...the witches road is a circle."
Agatha let out an angry yell.
"That's it? that's it!" She was looking straight at Billy and I.
"Agatha maybe we passed-"
She went feral, "BE QUIET!" She screamed.
I flinched.
Agatha looked around, "we keep going."
She declared.
Jenifer was not having it, "What?!"
Agatha nodded "We go again...it'll work the second time.."
"Agatha are you crazy?!" I yelled, "We barely survived the first time!"
Billy glanced down at our shoes.
"What are you gonna do? Have then bronzed?" Agatha mocked.
"We took them of as a sign of respect for the road," Billy said, "Well screw the road!"
Without ceremony he put his shoes back on.
Suddenly it was dark.
I shot up, in some sort of black bag. I scrambled to unzip it.
Billy, and Agatha were sitting up as-well, we were all in body bags, in...a morgue?
Agatha looked down disgusted by our outfits.
"The shoes..." I muttered.
Just then Jen came out of a freezer drawer struggling and screaming.
It was honestly a bit hard to watch, but eventually she managed to get out the bag.
I looked around the room.
"Where are we?"
Agatha glanced around us, "My basement. Give or take?"
I shivered, "Lots of happy memories here..."
"There's no place like home." Agatha muttered.
Jen pounded on the door, but it was sealed shut.
"Okay so what's the trial?" I asked.
Just then the grow lights on the ceiling began to flicker out.
"There's our countdown."
Jen went pensive, and then declared she wasn't going to let us die. I glanced sidelong at Agatha, we were both thinking the same thing.
"How will you accomplish that?"
Billy defended her, pointing out all the things she'd done while still bound.
"Billy's right...maybe you don't need it."
Jen sighed, "Well if that's true it means I've wasted the last century of my life..."
As she spoke Agatha glanced curiously at her.
"Agatha..:why do you look like that?" I asked.
She pursed her lips, and I did something I hated doing: I read her mind.
"It was you! You bounded Jen, how could you!"
Agatha shrugged defensively.
"You non stop sociopath!" Jen screamed.
Agatha scoffed, "I didn't know it was you! It was the 1920s, I did the odd spell for bank notes. I don't know...the patriarchy really shelled out to shush a lady. It was bind or burn!"
"Agatha that's horrible!" I yelled, she rolled her eyes.
Jen lost it, she ripped out some of Agatha hair and wrapped it around her wrists.
"The unbinding ritual."
"I deny your power over me!" Jen declared.
Agatha teased at first, but the desperation in Jens voice couldn't be denied even by her.
When it was over, a faint pink glow appeared in Jenifer's palms. And then...she was gone
Billy and I stared at the floor in shock.
"Where did she go?"
Agatha had an almost...proud smile on her face.
"The road gave her what she was missing. And now she's gone."
Agatha approached us.
"This can end right here right now." She said, "And since I physically can't seem to take your power," she glanced at me, "I'll settle for yours."
"No!" I stepped infornt of Billy, "Agatha you can't!"
But Agatha being Agatha tried another tactic.
"Fine...sit, let's find your brother."
"Agatha don't!" I yelled, "Don't do this, don't give him false hope!"
Agatha glared at me, "False hope? Your brothers spirit lies within him....they died at the same time remember."
"Fine. Let's do it." Billy sat down abruptly.
Agatha pushed him to the edge...she made him...she made us both relive that final night in Westview, those last moments...and then he was gone.
"No!" I yelled, moving to the place where Billy had been.
"Agatha no what did you do! WHAT DID YOU DO!"
I shook her, "Agatha did he kill a boy to get Tommy back! Is that what you made him do!"
Agatha had a far off look in her eyes, "No Lorna...sometimes boys just die."
