Jay
It was strange how easily we fell into a routine. I had never imagined myself in a domestic life,
but here we were, spending quiet evenings together, just the two of us.The house felt warmer now, filled with laughter and moments that I never thought I'd cherish.
One night, I found Hae-in in the kitchen, trying to make something from a recipe she had found online.
She looked adorable, face was covered in flour, her brow furrowed in concentration as she measured out ingredients.
"You're doing it wrong,"
I teased, leaning against the counter. She shot me a playful glare. "I don't see you helping, Mr.Park."
I stepped closer, taking the spoon from her hand.
"Let me show you."
We worked side by side, my hands occasionally brushing against hers as we kneaded the dough.
I caught her smiling a few times, and I couldn't help but smile too.It was so... easy. Being with her like this.
"You know," I said as we slid the tray into the oven,
"I think we'd make a pretty good team in the kitchen."She raised an eyebrow.
"Are you saying I'm not good enough on my own?"I chuckled, nudging her with my elbow.
"I'm saying we're better together, darling."---
Hae-in
Spending time at home with Jay felt like slipping into a life I hadn't known I wanted.
We cooked together often now, laughing and bickering over who was better at chopping vegetables or mixing sauces.
It was the little things—like the way he'd lean over my shoulder to check on whatever I was making and give me small pecks on the cheek after or how he'd offer to wash the dishes, even though he hated it.
One night, after a dinner we'd made together, we settled on the couch,
a movie playing on the TV.Jay wasn't much for romantic comedies, but he sat through them anyway because he knew I liked them.
As the credits rolled, I felt his arm wrap around me, pulling me closer."You're such a softie," I teased, resting my head against his chest as i wrapped my arms around him too.
He chuckled, the sound vibrating through me.
"Only for you."
I smiled, closing my eyes.
It was moments like these that made me realize how far we'd come. From strangers in a business deal to... this.
A real marriage, a real partnership.
