Entering through, I half expected to get shredded into pieces by those blasted traps. What I wasn't expecting to be in a...forest or sorts? Wait no, the forest are paper thin. Like PNG files you have in video games to fool the viewers that it's 3D. Speaking of, I noticed my views in this layer has changed. I now have an interface or something? I have an inventory, and a save/load system now. I wasn't sure what to expect so I saved in the first file.
After that, I pace forward a few meters and suddenly I am facing a chatbox.
{After a long day, you look for a place to rest.}
Hm, seems like this layer is based on a simulation or sorts. Sure, I'll play along.
Looking around for a place, I see nothing but those trees. I venture down the path, it has a sign that reads :
{Manor - - - - >, < - - - - Forest}
Hmm, I check down the forest path and I try to interact with anything. Only when I come across the giant roses did my chatbox appeared :
{These roses blocked the exit of the layer. Collect the soul shards and have fun! - Shopkeeper}
Oh great, of course. It's Shopkeeper. Who else would be a pain on my side?
I sighed and decided to go back down the path to where the manor is.
Running down the really long road, dirt and filth on the sides of the path. There's some suspicious weird red patches in the grass. The flowers are all blooming beautifully under the nice weather. The sun shining brightly down on the forest as I venture even further. The trees are getting thicker and they don't feel safe. It feels like someone is watching me between the trees.
Suddenly, in front of me, there stood the Manor. It look to be about ten floors, and blackened out windows. The walls are of dark purple and black. Very much like a haunted mansion in those old movies. I hear a bell chime as I approach the manor.
Just then, I look over and see white kitty cat. It meows at me.
{Yo, this is the place, right?}
Hey wait a minute, it's got black fur too and those shades-
"Dude, are you kidding me?" I rolled my eyes as the cat meows innocently at me while smugly smiling.
{Yup! Got bored in my shop so I decided to follow you. And no, the demons can't see me. I don't permit them too.}
"Gonna explain that to me?"
{Maybe not now. Wanna head inside? And you should be afraid of this one.}
"Why warn me? You seem to be enjoying my deaths-"
{Not exactly your deaths per say.}
"I am just going go in."
The cat jumps into my hands and simply purr. God, why do I have to look after the cat now?!
I grumbled and went up the steps, it creaks with each steps I take. Soon, at the front door, I ring the doorbell first.
{Hm? How polite of you.}
The cat spoke as if surprised by my gesture. But I paid no mind to it, I knock on the door as good measure before inviting myself in.
Stepping in, the door shuts tightly behind me. The loud slam scarring both me and the cat.
{Seems like we are alone here.}
"Before that, explain to me on why are you a cat?"
{Meow.}
"Understandable."
