Summary: Leon and Claire explore an abandoned and supposedly haunted house together!
Status of their relationship in this one shot: Just friends with clear & evident feelings.
Beneath Claire as she walked was the sound of leaves crunching and branches breaking. The entire yard was riddled with both. Occasionally, Claire could swear she heard movement so there's a possibility the area has wildlife scattered around it too. Most likely little animals such as chipmunks or raccoons, nothing major.
She wasn't the one holding a flashlight, that was Leon. For her, it was a bit darker, Leon was a few feet in front of her, paving the way for the two of them. Maybe this was a stupid idea. They were bored and free, the idea of checking out some creepy abandoned house that has rumors of being haunted sounded daunting and entertaining. They are full grown adults though so this is rather childish in her perception.
Nevertheless though, she's enjoying herself.
On the car ride here, they got some dinner and ate it before venturing out to this rundown place. When Leon first pulled his car in, the headlights shined down upon the building and immediately it had an eerie attachment to it-as if there were spirits already on an uprise. Claire isn't sure on whether or not she believes in ghosts but she guesses she'll find that out by tonight.
Claire & Leon don't hang out together alone often, they're usually with someone or they simply don't chill together. Lately, they've been very busy and when the opportunity to visit each other striked, they didn't take it for granted. Claire likes being around Leon. He brings a new sense of emotion into her life. He's a great guy and well, they've bonded over time surely, especially considering they endured the RC incident together.
The two circled the entire yard for an entry way-nothing. The front door had been blocked off by some boards and tape which in all honesty should've been the first red flag. But Claire & Leon being the dare devils they are, they'll proceed onwards. "Well, what should we do? There's no entrance." Leon chuckled, shining his light all around. "Ha, yeah, well, maybe break a window?" Claire was only joking; Leon didn't realize that.
Without saying a word, Leon picked a brick up off of the ground (There were multiple around the house) and he chuckled it at the large back window, earning a shocked yelp from Claire. "Leon! Are you crazy!?" She covered her mouth, stunned by his actions. "What? You just said to-" "I was obviously kidding!" Claire giggled. "Oh." Leon said with a monotone voice, making Claire snicker furthermore.
Curiosity killed the cat though-Claire peered into the window-it was pitch black. "Shine your light in there." Claire pointed at the window. She was leaning forwards, trying to get a decent view into the horrid house. Leon did and the sight was plain but exciting. Leon must've threw the brick through the living room because there were dusty old couches in there and items scattered all around. "Maybe a quick look wouldn't be so bad...?" Claire thought aloud. "We'll be fast." Leon was just as mischievous.
The two of them both agreed they'd check it out. Claire felt like a teenager again, doing something she shouldn't be. She's so used to serving justice and being a good girl, so what's a little bit of bad going to do? Leon and Claire inched towards the window-an oddly familiar smell filling their nostrils. It gave Claire a hint of nostalgia, but the smell is just a mixture of dust and copper, maybe antiques too. "I'll help you in." Leon stated. Leon jumped down first, it was only about a three foot drop. "I'll catch you." Leon said kindly. The drop wasn't a problem for Claire though.
