The next day they sat on the stairs outside the school, sulking and grieving in silence together. Until Nobara broke it of course.

"He said... live a long life? Guess that doesn't mean much when you die yourself. First time...having a partner of yours die on ya?" Nobara asked. Aiko flashbacks to their village tainted in blood for a split second.

"One my age, yeah." Megumi said as Aiko leaned her head on his shoulder. Nobara sighed, sitting with her head rested on her hand, that rested on her knee.

"You're taking it well, though." She complimented.

"Yeah. You too." Megumi replied and patted Aiko's knee to signal her as well.

"Well, of course. Two weeks ago I didn't even know him." Nobara dismissed. But Aiko could feel her pain. "I'm not the type to break down and fall to pieces....when a guy I barely know dies." She said, but that was only half true. "I mean, jeez..." she trailed off before her lip quivered and she started silently crying. Megumi glanced at her feeling his chest tighten. Aiko's tears slipped off her cheeks, dampening his pants slightly.

"Sorry.." she whispered, pulling away and wiping her tears.

"Don't worry about it." Megumi replied waving he off. "It's hot, huh?" He said changing the subject so the girls would feel better.

"Yeah. Wonder if it's time for summer uniforms." Nobara responded.

"You can borrow some of mine, Gojo thinks I'm becoming a stripper after this apparently." Aiko said shaking her head and mentally cursing the grown man.

"I wouldn't fit your clothes, I'm like two sizes bigger than you, my ass would hang out." Nobara said glancing at her sister with a look, like she was mentally asking if she was stupid.

"You remind me again and again, why I hate being nice to you." Aiko groaned.

"So what's this?" A new voice called, a girl with dark veridian hair and glasses standing before them in a jujutsu uniform. "You're looking even more bummed out than usual, Megumi. Havin a wake?" She asked so casually that it made Aiko cock a brow at her. She wondered if the girl genuinely didn't know, that they were indeed mourning.

"What's up, Zenin?" Megumi asked blankly.

"Stop calling me by my last name!" She scolded.

"Maki! Maki!" A giant panda called from behind a stone griffon and a boy with pale blonde almost white hair peeled out.

"I'm talking here. Shut it." She snapped at them.

"Are you serious right now? You don't know why they're so down?" Panda said annoyed.

"No, should I?" She asked carelessly.

"Someone died yesterday! A boy. He was one of the first years!" He scolded.
