They met up with the second years a few times getting acquainted, meeting up this day as Maki directed them.

"This is your first task. Take a whiff." She said referring to Panda. The three blindly walked up to him and sniffed a few times deeply.

"Doesn't really stink. Actually, Panda sort of smells like the sun." Megumi said casually. Maki and Nobara gasped, thinking the word 'sunshine' in their minds simultaneously.

"Panda? Is that gain?" Aiko asked with a grin, smacking his large elbow.

"It is! I told you Maki!" He snapped at the girl.

"Alright, alright, now onto your next task..." Maki stated, directing Nobara, Panda, Megumi, and Inumaki to their respective positions. "You. You're with me. Your cursed technique leaves you vulnerable if the opponent has more cursed energy than you. I want you to learn how to wield a cursed tool." Maki told Aiko.

"Right." Aiko said with a firm nod.

Maki handed her a purple katana, telling her to practice feeling the weight of it and transferring her cursed energy into the blade. She listened intently. Maki observed her for a little while, seemingly had chosen the correct weapon for her.

"What emotion is strongest when you reflect them?" Maki asked her curiously.

"Fear." Aiko answered firmly.

"I want you to harbor your fear manipulation into the blade." Maki ordered. Aiko froze.

"I don't think you want me to do that. It's a really powerful emotion." She said nervously.

"I'll make it a fair fight. I'll spar with you, with my own katana." Maki said walking to the field with her katana drawn.

    Aiko bit her lip nervously.

"You asked for it..." Aiko said tilting her head for a second before extending the katana out at her side, gripping it by the blade to infuse the fear energy.

Her cursed energy turned purple as well as her irises as she focused. It was coming off her in waves, everyone stopping with wide eyes, sweat dripping off their foreheads as they turned to look at the source. Maki felt frozen as she felt the weight of the fear consume her; She shook it off, readying her katana.
