She woke up groggy a few days later, her phone ringing loudly. She picked it up and answered blindly."You rang?" She asked lazily, sleep clear in her tone.
"One of my favorite students! Goooood morning, Aiko!" He yelled and she winced at the volume.
"Good morning...Gojo sensei." She mumbled annoyed.
"So, you feeling better about yourself and your technique now? Did you find your role?" He asked curiously.
"Yeah. I think I did. Maki has been making me use a cursed tool, a katana. I'm getting really good with it, at least I think so." She replied hopefully.
"Good, I'm glad. Any premonitions lately? Maybe one involving...I don't know...outer space with me and Yuki?" He asked not so subtly.
"Uh... I had a vague dream sort of like that? That was oddly specific..." she said confused.
"Ah, I see. We'll have to have a chat about your eyes when I get back, then we can discuss a plan to help you harness the power. Does that sound good?" He asked.
"Uh... yep. And Gojo?" Aiko didn't appreciate many people in her life.
"Yes, dear student of mine?" Gojo responded.
"Thank you." She said softly, still feeling the weight of Yuji's death, knowing she had someone on her side made it lighter. There was a small bit of silence on his end before it abruptly disconnected. She frowned, but it was Gojo. What else could you expect?
She climbed out of bed not bothering to brush her hair or teeth yet as she staggered to the common area and made a bowl of cereal, still exhausted.
"Kugisaki?" Megumi asked staring at her knotted hair.
"Mhm.." she responded.
"Are you...feeling alright?" He asked cringing.
"If you don't want my foot in an unpleasant spot...please stop talking to me, Fushiguro." She groaned. "I'm having a bad day." She mumbled as she sat down next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder as she lazily played with her cereal. He was going to scoff, but his gaze softened. He knew why she was upset. It's why she was normally upset afterall.
Nobara went to snap a picture of them but Megumi subtly shook his head no at her, begging her not to. She waved him off taking a picture with the flash anyway. Aiko gripped her spoon tighter, launching over the table as Megumi struggled to hold her back by the waist.
"You're insufferable!" Aiko yelled.
"It was a cute moment!" Nobara shot back.
"I'll show you cute when I take this spoon and—mmf djdhn mhgak nmra!" Megumi's hand flew over her mouth in fear of her next choice of words. Nobara backed away slowly out of the room, rushing to put the picture on her laptop before Aiko could delete it.
