Lord Frederick William Howard, Duke of Norfolk Territory was 25 years old when he became Duke of Norfolk Territory and he was one of the most powerful Lords on Star Base 12 and within its many Dukedoms, Earldoms and Barony.

Although The Prime Directive of 2165 stated that no Lord was any better or more powerful than any other Lord on Star Base 12, it did set boundaries for all the Lords to follow.

This way it would not start feuds and duels between neighboring Lords on Star Base 12.

The Prime Directive was straightforward that no Lord of a neighboring Dukedom, Earldom or Barony may travel through another Dukes, Earls, or Barons Territory on Star Base 12 without prior consent of the current Duke, Earl, or Baron that governed the Territory.

For the most part, Lord Frederick William Howard got along well with his many neighboring Lords especially Lord Richard Devereux, Earl of Essex Territory and Lord Philip John Carey, Duke of Bedford Territory and from the South-East, Lord James Alexander Stuart, Duke of Lennox Territory.

In the year of 2206, Lord Thomas Clifford, Baron Clifford travels from the Barony of Cliff to talk to Lord Frederick William Howard, Duke of Norfolk Territory to ask him for his daughter, Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard hand in marriage for his son and heir, Lord George Clifford, who was born in the year of 2188.

Lord Frederick William Howard receives Lord Thomas Clifford graciously, and Lord Frederick William Howard asks what he wants and Lord Thomas Clifford states his business " I have come to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage for my son and heir."

Lord Frederick William Howard, Duke of Norfolk Territory asks Lord Thomas Clifford, Baron Clifford " Are you seriously, Baron Clifford?"

"I am very serious about it, Lord Howard." Lord Thomas states

"What? You have come to my Dukedom to ask me for the hand of my only daughter for your son

"I am very serious about it, Lord Howard." Lord Thomas states

"What? You have come to my Dukedom to ask me for the hand of my only daughter for your son and heir, and she is not your son's equal." Lord Frederick William retorts.

"My son is my heir to my Barony. Our fathers drew up the Prime Directive and no Lord is any better than any other Lord on Star Base 12. We are all equal." Lord Thomas reminds him.

"I Know about the Prime Directive. I disagree with it." Lord Frederick Willliam states.

"Lord Clifford. There are other Barons on Star Base 12 who have daughters who would be honored to marry your son and heir, Lord George." Lord Frederick William states.

"There is Baron Neville, Baron Grey, have you tried them for your son." Lord Frederick William asks.

"Now if I had another daughter. I might consider it." Lord Frederick William states.

"You do have another daughter, Lady Anastasia Caroline Howard." Lord Thomas states.

"Lady Anastasia Caroline is only 6 years old and she lives with her mother, Lady Caroline Stanley." Lord Frederick William states.

"Have you tried Lord Philip Carey, Duke of Bedford Territory?." Lord Frederick William asked

"Lord Carey has a daughter, Lady Philadelphia Wilhelmina Carey." Lord Frederick William Howard asks him.

"Lord James Alexander Stuart has a daughter, Lady Isabella Stuart, have you tried him?" Lord Frederick William Howard.

Lord Richard Devereux has a daughter, Lady Lettice and she is the daughter of The Earl of Essex Territory and she is my first cousin once removed." Lord Frederick William Howard tells him.

"My only daughter is off limits to your son. I have higher aspirations for my daughter that she will marry the heir and son of a Duke and nothing less than an Earl will do for my only daughter." Lord Frederick William Howard states.

"How dare you insult my son and heir and my family, Lord Howard!" Lord Thomas Clifford declares.

"It is well known that your ancestors fell out of grace with King Henry The VIII when Lord Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk married his niece, Lady Katheryn Howard to King Henry The VIII and swore she was still a virgin." Lord Thomas states.

"It is well known that his son, Lord Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey was beheaded for high treason against King Henry The VIII of England and his son, Lord Thomas Howard, the fourth Duke was also beheaded for high treason against his own cousin, Queen Elizabeth The First." Lord Thomas Clifford states.

"The Howard's didn't get back the Dukedom of Norfolk until King Charles The Second of England." Lord Thomas declares.

"It is well known that your ancestor Lord John Clifford , killed Lord Edmund Plantagnet, Earl of Rutland and he showed him no mercy and he begged for his young life." Lord Frederick William states.

"My ancestor, Lord John Howard was a Proud Support of The House of York." Lord Frederick William Howard states.

"Your ancestors fought for the Lancasters during The War of The Roses." Lord Frederick William states.

"Nowhere in The Howard history does it state that a Howard ever married a Clifford, and I won't dishonor my noble ancestor, Lord John Howard the First Duke of Norfolk." Lord Frederick William Howard declared.

"One of my ancestors married the great-granddaughter of King Henry The Seventh of England, Lord Henry Clifford, 2nd Earl of Cumberland married Lady Eleanor Brandon, the second daughter of Princess Mary Rose and Sir Thomas Brandon." Lord Thomas declares.

"The Tudors were usurper to the English Throne and had women been able to succeed their fathers it would have been Princess Elizabeth of York who would have become The First Queen Regnant of England rather than her two granddaughters." Lord Frederick William states.

"Look for a bride for your heir and son elsewhere but not within my family or extended family." Lord Frederick William states.

"One day, Lord Frederick William Howard. One of your great-grandchildren will want to marry one of my great-grandchildren, but I swear on my father's grave it won't happen." Lord Thomas declares.

"I don't have any great-grandchildren yet and neither do you. Neither of us will be alive to see any of them born. " Lord Frederick William retorts.

"I will make sure my son and grandson know about the feud and insult you have done to our family." Lord Thomas declares.

"I have three sons and they will have sons and they will carry on The Howard Proud Tradition.' Lord Frederick William Howard retorts.

The discord between Lord Frederick William Howard, Duke of Norfolk Territory and Lord Thomas Clifford, Baron Clifford of The Barony of Clifford on Star Base 12 leads to a deadly duel but it stops before anyone gets killed.
