As I was walking out the hospital I seen Arianna and Shad walking into together she saw me and waved. Then she said something to shad and she walked over to me. "hey what are you doing here?". " I'm just visiting a friend" I told her. " Oh " she said then got quiet. " Do you wanna come with me to my phyiscal thearpy session?" she asked me. " umm I guess if you want me too" I said. " Yeah I want you to" she said and smiled. Then I followed her to the elevator where shad but he said he had to go into surgey so he said goodbye and left. We got in the elevator and headed to the fifth floor which was the physical therapy was at. We went to the room and Arianna was seen right away. I followed her and sat down while he doctor came in and ran a scalpel on her foot and ask her did it hurt she said it did. Then they took her for an X-ray. Then she came back and she started talking about how excited she was to hear that she was dancing in her seat and she started moving her legs without realizing it. The doctor was like " wow" I see we can get you on braces sooner than later and she was so happy that all you could see was a big smile on her face. The doctor left the room for a few minutes and came back with a pair of braces in his hand and he said after you go John you can wear these instead of being in a wheelchair. It's just in the next room so you can right now. "Okay this is the best day ever chris your good luck " she said while the doctor helped her get back in her chair. " I guess " I said and followed her into the next room where it was a big gym filled with weights ,mats and poles everywhere. John came over and said "welcome Arianna I'll be your trainer teaching you how to walk again". She said. " Hi it's nice to meet you , thanks for helping me". It's my pleasure darling well let this thing started as they went over to the mirror and the walkway that was there to help you walk with handles was there. I sat and watched her do all the excerises John told her to do and she did them really well. An hour later they were finished and she was walking over to me with the braces on. " it feels so weird to be walking again" she said I know the feeling I told her. We walked out the room and out to the elevator. While we were in the elevator she said we should go get something to eat now I'm starving". " me too what kind of food do you want to eat?" " how about some barbecue " she said. " Good choice I know the perfect place how did you get here did shad drive your car or his?" I asked her. " he drove his car because I don't even have a car I gave it to my friend Angelica since the accident she was always complaining about not having a car" she said. "Okay we can take my car then." We walked to the car and I helped her take the braces off and into the passenger seat and buckled her in. Then I got in the driver seat and buckled up then drove off to the restaurant. I arrived at chuck's BBQ house in thirty minutes. I parked the car and got out and opened the door and helped Arianna out the car and put the braces back on and we headed into the restaurant together. The hostess said aye breezy where you been we missed you around here". " I've been really busy I know but I'm sorry to here everything that's happen to you you have been in our prayers it's good to see you walking again". " thanks man I've needed that can I get a table for two". " yeah you can right this way he said and showed us to a table in the back of the restaurant and he even helped Arianna into her seat. He handed us our menus and went back to work. " you're pretty popular here you must come here a lot aria said. " yes but there my family also. My uncle chuck who name is on the outside of the building owns this place and is the head chef here". " that's pretty cool "she said. " It is but have you decided what you wanted?" " umm I'll think I'll take the chopped BBQ sandwich with french fries and Mountain Dew to drink. " that's a good choice I'll get some ribs and sweet potatoes with a Pepsi. I waved and the waiter came running and I told them what we wanted and he wrote it down and left. We sat in silence for a few minutes. Then Arianna said so I've been following your business on the news and your a hero now you saved someone's life, How cool is that. It was nothing I was just in the right place at the right time I told her. The news said that she was shot along with her mother who died how did that happen. I don't know I just was walking and I looked across the street when the gun shot rang out and there she was laying on the ground. So I ran across the street and checked her pulse but her mom was already dead because she was shot in the head but Layla was still alive so I called 911 and the rest is history I told her. That had to be really scary right and sad for the girl to see her mother die like that and now she's all alone she said. Layla thought she was alone to until she got in touch with her dad now she lives with him but I offered her to stay with me and she was if she didn't get up the enough courage to call her father who was looking for her as well. So that was a good thing but now we are friends and a text came through my phone and it was a picture of Layla and her whole family saying thanks your my hero for life. I looked at it and smiled do you wanna see her she just sent me a picture of her with her family, she's the one in the blue shirt" I said and showed her the phone. That's great she said and looked at the phone she looks really happy and it's all thanks to you that gotta make you feel really good she said. I was just doing the right thing I said yeah it was but the food looks good and smells great lets eat as the plates arrived and the waiter left the table. We ate and talked it was a pretty good day today I thought to myself.
