It was a gloomy, cold, rainy Chicago morning. Kelly was the first to wake up and headed to the coffee pot. As he waited for the coffee to get done, he turned the heat up and walked over to the window. The clouds were getting darker, and he could tell a storm was brewing. Happy it wasn't a shift day; he and Stella could stay in and cuddle on the couch with a movie or binge-watch something. Or he smiled; they could stay in their room and make love all day; even though they made love a few times last night, he's pretty sure they could find something to do in their bedroom.

"Morning," Casey said, coming out of his bedroom.

Kelly turned around. "Morning man, heading out?" He asked, noticing he was dressed and had his jacket in his hands.

"Yeah." He replied as he poured himself some coffee.

"It's raining pretty hard out there; it looks like a storm is coming too."

"I know, according to the weatherman, it's rain and thunderstorms all day; luckily it's like forty percent in Springfield."

Kelly walked over to him. "Why are you going to Springfield?" He poured himself a cup of coffee.

"Well, it's your fault."

"My fault, how is that?"

"Because you told Brett her car was gone and it was time for a new one last week."

"Yeah, because that car is a piece of junk."

"She loves that car; she's had it for years."

"I get that, but come on man. Every week that car was having issues; she is putting all this money into that car; it's a waste if you ask me, especially when it's best to just get a new one."

"Well, that's what she is doing?"

Kelly gave him a confused look. "Why are you going all the way to Springfield? You know Chicago has car dealerships too." He laughed.

Casey rolls his eyes. "I know, but I have a friend that works at the Springfield one, and he promised to give Brett a good deal."

"Brett can't go alone?"

"Nope, because the last time Brett brought a car, the sales dude scammed her good." Stella joining the conversation. "And she even ended up with a puppy."

"How?" Kelly asked as he poured his girlfriend a cup of coffee.

"I don't exactly know the details, but apparently before she moved to Chicago she went to a car dealership and the sales dude saw her coming; she ended up paying two times over the sticker price; the engine had issues; two of the tires were bald; and his kids were there giving away puppies; they guilted her into taking one." Stella smirked. As she takes the cup from Kelly and takes a sip.

"I didn't know that." Casey said with a wide-eyed look.

"Yep, it's a good thing you're going with her. She is easily persuaded that's why people take her for granted sometimes." Stella tells him as she leans over and kisses Kelly's cheek. "I'm going to take a shower." She winks at him, before walking away.

"Okay." Kelly watches her walk to the bathroom.

Casey phone dings. "That's Brett; she is picking me up."

"Well, let's hope that car makes it to Springfield." Kelly jokes.

"Seriously?"

"Hey, like I said that car is a piece of junk, I do hope it makes it to the dealership."

Casey puts his jacket on. "Well, it's a good thing I have a best friend that will come get me if we do break down."

"Who Herrmann?" Kelly asked with a raised brow.
