Underneath the ground the earth shook. The prophecy of the twelve has been spoken. Tartarus has woke.
Percy POV:
I was looking forward to a stress free life. I mean, we had just defeated Gaea, Kronos, I mean can I get a break?! Unfortunately, no. I was sitting in my geometry class when a hellhound broke into the room. I immediately jumped up and reached into my pocket. My pen-sword Riptide was there, so I quickly unsheathed it and went into battle. I ducked under the hellhound as it charged towards me. While this was happening the mortals in my class continued listening to Mrs. Sheepherder's lecture. The Mist is weird. I know a friend of mine Hazel Levezique, who can manipulate the mist to her advantage. Like I said. Weird.
The hellhound lunged forward but I brought my sword down onto its head and it exploded into dust. Back to Tartarus it goes. I recalled when me and Annabeth fell down into Tartarus. I shivered. Yeah, I wasn't going to relive that memory. Annabeth is my girlfriend if you didn't know. We hang out, go to quests together, and have faced death, Hades, and Tartarus in the eye. Yeah, we're pretty close.
I quickly asked to go to the bathroom. Mrs. Sheepherder gave me a death glare before saying, "Yes you may,"
Seriously, why are you so ticked off about a student going into the bathroom.
I went into the bathroom and was about to do my business until a car smashed through the school wall. I've seen some pretty weird stuff, so I wasn't even surprised. Grover, my best friend since the sixth grade was in the car, as well as Jason, and Frank.
"Need to-" Grover wheezed, "Go to camp."
"Alright Grover, what is this about," I hopped into the backseat of the car.
"Sorry-"Grover went backwards at 50 miles per hour smashing into another car, " But Rachel has another prophecy."
I groaned. Prophecies sucked. and I bet every one of my friends agree. You basically fight for your lives, face imminent death at every step, blah, blah, blah. They are not a lot of fun.
After a while we reached Half-Blood Camp. "Hurry!" yelled Grover sprinting off into the distance, " We don't have much time!"
After some good cardio, we reached the mess hall. Chiron, Rachel, and Hazel were waiting for us. "Hey Percy, well we kind of had another prophecy."
"I know, Grover told me already," I said plopping down on a new beanbag chair.
"Yes, but it sounds concerning," Chiron added, "Rachel recite it."
Rachel took a deep breath.
"Twelve shall rise in the dark of night,
To face the storm, the endless fight.
The Earth will tremble, the sky shall weep,
As Tartarus stirs from ancient sleep. The Son of the Sky and Daughter of War,
Shall lead the charge to the Underworld's door.
With the Smith's hammer and the Hunter's aim,
They'll venture forth into the flame. The Architect's mind and the Sea-born's heart,
Will challenge the shadows, play their part.
The Cursed will heal, and the Seeker will fight,
While the Healer's touch brings hope to light. But beware the Fire-born, whose spark may fade,
In the depths where the shadows invade.
The Daughter of Death and the Betrayed shall find,
Their destinies sealed where Tartarus binds. The Fates have spun their final thread,
To bind the gods and wake the dead.
And if they falter, if hope should fade,The world shall drown in Tartarus' shade"
The room was silent.
I coughed, "That's a lot of rhymes."
Chiron gave me a dark look.
" So now what?" Frank shifted uncomfortably.
"We gather the twelve." Chiron said.
