We were sitting in my car, both of us reluctant to say goodbye. There was a comfortable silence between us, broken only by the soft hum of the engine.
"Well, I guess I should go now," Akansha said, though there was hesitation in her voice. She looked at me, her eyes filled with something warm, something unspoken.
"Yeah, I should let you go," I replied, though my heart was screaming to keep her there just a little longer.
I don't know what came over me, but at that moment, I leaned closer. I could see her eyes widen slightly as I moved in, and just when she thought I was about to kiss her on the lips, she squeezed her eyes shut tightly, bracing for it.
