Lo'ak, Kiri, monkey boy, and I walked into the lab, with Kiri leading the way. We passed through the Avatar zone, walking past Norm, who was casually brushing his teeth.
"Hey, Spider!" Norm greeted, flicking the towel that was around his neck at Spider in a playful manner.
"Avatar zone! Walk around!!" a scientist barked, their tone sharp and their face twisted in annoyance. Kiri rolled her eyes and mimicked the scientist in a high-pitched voice, causing me to burst into laughter.
"Your ass is mine," Spider teased Norm with a grin.
"I'm right here," Norm responded, playfully raising his hands in a playful way. I rolled my eyes at their playful interaction, stifling a giggle.
As we approached the stairs leading up to the lab, Lo'ak noticed the freshly painted blue stripes on Spider's body and smirked to himself.
"Those blue stripes don't make you look any bigger, bro," Lo'ak joked, earning laughter from Kiri and me."Yeah, well, I could still kick your ass," Spider shot back with a chuckle."I doubt that," I muttered under my breath, glancing around the lab while picking up a gas mask. Kiri overheard me and laughed.
"Don't be too hard on him," she said, smiling. "You know he wants to be Na'vi like us. Let him dream a little."
"Yeah, you're right," I replied.
Spider chimed in, a bit of frustration on his face, "It really sucks that you guys can breathe my air for like 10 minutes, and I can only breathe yours for like 10 seconds."
"Yeah, Monkey Boy, that sucks... for you!" Kiri teased, flashing him a grin.
"So, how's it going between you and my brother?" Kiri suddenly asked, turning her attention to me.
"Huh? What do you mean? There's nothing between me and Neteyam," I replied quickly, feeling my face heat up.
"Oh, really? And how did you know I was talking about Neteyam?" Kiri smirked at me, as I rolled my eyes and glared at her."I saw that you were a, bit worried about him, being injured, do you like him. Now?" I look at Kiri with a disgusted face, Kiri burst out laughing" Kiri you know, me and Neteyam do not like eachother, and I wasn't worried about him. I was just making sure his skxawng ass was fine, nothing more." you said with a huff leaving your mouth.
"Uh-huh, sure. Let's go with that," Kiri said, giggling as she rolled her eyes.
Kiri grabbed an oxygen mask for herself, as did Lo'ak and i. As she turned to inspect some equipment, Spider seized the opportunity to tug on her tail. Kiri gasped, jumping slightly before spinning around and playfully swatting at him while hissing. They mock-fought, laughing all the while.
"Hey, Max!" Kiri called out as Max, one of the scientists, walked into the lab.
"Hello, kids! How are you all doing?" Max greeted us warmly."We're fine," I answered on behalf of everyone.
"What's up, man?" Spider asked, giving Max a fist bump.
"Hi, Mom," Kiri said softly, walking over and jumped on the tank where her mother, Grace, was preserved. She smiled, resting her hand on the glass in a gentle embrace.
