Sota spotted Akio across the campus quad, hurrying to catch up.
"Akio!" Sota called out, slightly out of breath.
Akio turned, flashing a warm smile. "Hey, Sota! I was starting to think you'd forgotten."
Sota's cheeks flushed. "No, I didn't. I mean, I'd love to go out."
Akio's eyes sparkled. "Awesome! How about an arcade day?"
Sota grinned. "Sounds perfect."
At the arcade, they competed in lively games, sharing laughter and playful jabs. Sota felt at ease with Akio.
As they left the arcade, dark clouds unleashed a torrential downpour.
"Run!" Akio yelled, grabbing Sota's hand.
They dashed through the rain-soaked streets, laughing and stumbling.
Under an awning, Akio turned to Sota, concern etched on his face.
"You're shivering."
Sota nodded, teeth chattering.
Akio swiftly removed his jacket and draped it over Sota's shoulders.
"Here, take this."
The warmth and scent of Akio's jacket enveloped Sota, sending a flutter through his chest.
As they walked, Sota's gaze drifted to Akio's smile.
Maybe, just maybe, he liked Akio a little bit more than he thought.
Akio glanced at Sota, their eyes meeting.
A spark of electricity ran through the rainy air.
