ONE WEEK LATER

Y/N's POV:

It's been a week since homecoming happened and things are going great. Let's see, Gwen and I are still very close. In fact we manage to get closer to each other every time, even though we're not dating. Like that night, she actually stayed at my place. She didn't sleep in my room, we made her sleep on the couch and she was cool with it. It would be nice to have her sleep with me though. Hehehe.
Speaking of dating, she broke up with Liam. I'm really happy for her since she stuck up for herself and didn't let that bullshit continue. But she was pissed off at him, she let him know everything that was going on in her mind. She brought up the cheating, his dryness and just how he treats women in general. He was actually crying and said he'd do better, but she wasn't having it.
So that was the end of their chapter.
Today, we skipped school. Who I mean we is Gwen, Brittany, Jaelyn, Chasey, Ned, Caleb and Kris and I because we're going to Caleb's grandpa's lighthouse.
He is out of town for a little bit, he's actually on a deep sea fishing trip to catch crabs, so we're gonna use it for the next few days.
And by use it, drink, play games and party it up.
I asked Gwen if she was comfortable with drinking and she said that she'll be okay.
It's ten in the morning right now and we're actually picking up everyone.
All the girls were picked up, Ned and I were as well. Caleb is driving to Kris' house to pick him up.
I hope the girls like my friends, they're very different from their boyfriends so I'm curious to see how this goes. Honestly, their boyfriends are kinda dicks to the girls, so I hope that at least one of my friends and Gwen's friends hook up at some point.
At least one, I'm praying.
"You excited?" I asked Gwen.
"Yeah I am, I've never been to a light house before."
"This one's fun. We'll going swimming, play games, party, watch movies, drink. It'll be great."
She was smiling wide at me.
"I'm gonna kick your ass in the water."
I laughed.
"I'd like to see you try."
We both laughed.
After we picked up Kris, we took off because our roadtrip was a little long.
We had to drive from Saco to a place called Prospect Harbor. It's in a town called Gouldsboro.
I've been to this lighthouse a bunch of times, I always have a good time. But I've never been this late in the year. It's the middle of October and it's gonna be in the mid fifties up there. It's okay because it's gonna be sunny the entire time.
Doesn't mean we won't get cold though.
I'm sort've surprised that Gwen managed to convince the girls to come on our lighthouse trip because they seem like the girls who wouldn't be into that.
Everything is actually starting out good, like we're all talking and laughing and mine and Gwen's friends are getting to know each other. The girls in the back and the guys in the front and Ned next to me were yelling over each other to talk to one another. I looked at Gwen and she looked at me, we were thinking the same thing and we gave each other a fist bump.
Another thing, do you remember when Gwen and I were dancing in my yard and almost kissed on homecoming night? Well we haven't talked about that. Like at all. I hope we didn't forget that because that was really special to me. Maybe I'll try to make a move this weekend.

TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER

After two and a half hours of laughing and singing song lyrics with my friends, we finally made it. It was almost one o'clock, we're making good time actually.
"Oh wow, this is nice." Chasey said in the back.
"Yeah this place never gets old." Caleb said, putting the van in park.
Gwen opened the door and I followed behind. We went to the trunk and I grabbed my stuff and Gwen's stuff.
"Y/N, you don't have to do that." Gwen said, reaching for her bag.
"I want to." I said and she smiled, I think she's blushing.
We walked into the house and nothing's been moved. Whatever you think of what an old house on an ocean side cliff would look like, it's exactly that.
I made it to the room Gwen picked and I placed her bag on her bed.
"You like it?" I asked.
"It's very different, I'll say that. Not many places in the city are old creeky houses." She said and we laughed.
Caleb overheard.
"Hey, this place ain't creeky!" He said and then opened a door that let out the biggest squeak ever.
We all laughed.
Basically, all the girls were gonna sleep in the guest bedrooms while the boys were gonna sleep in the bottom of the lighthouse.
We get sleeping bags and everything, it's actually fun and cozy.
I walked outside and went into the lighthouse to drop my bag on the ground. I turned to see Gwen outside, waiting for me with a bottle of Fireball.
"Damn, you wanna get fucked up already?" I asked laughing.
"Why not? We're here." She said.
Fair enough.
"Let's go grab some cups." I said and she followed me into the house.
We went into the kitchen and grabbed some cups and poured the Fireball in them.
"Cheers to Caleb for not crashing the van." Gwen said and I laughed.
"Cheers. He really needs it."
We collided our cups and we took a sip. I was completely fine, I've gotten over the burn in the throat.
On the other hand, Gwen starts coughing.
"You don't like it?" I ask laughing.
"It fucking burns!" She said and continued to cough.
"It tastes good though." She said.
"Well there you go, wasn't bad after all." I said and we giggled.
"How can you casually drink that like it's nothing?"
"Years of coming here and fucking shit up." I said and she smiled.
"You little alcoholic." She teased.
"Well you're about to become one this weekend. C'mon." I said, making her follow me back outside to the lighthouse.
We walked in and I let her go ahead of me to walk up the round staircase to the top. Eventually, we made it up and everyone was up there with the wind blowing their hair in all sorts of directions. It's definitely cold up here.
"Hey there you are! Where were you?" Kris asked.
I held up my cup.
"Starting off strong." I said.
"You guys already dug into the drinks?" Ned asked.
"Fuckin why not? It's what we came here for." I said laughing. I looked at Gwen and she looked so majestic. Her wavy hair was getting blown back and she was peacefully looking out into the sea. She looked free. I stared for a little bit with a smile on my face.
She looked at me and smiled.
"What?" She asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Nothing."
She kept smiling.
"Alright, let's head back down." Jaelyn said and we all followed.
We went back down to the house and we all got drinks.
Throughout the past few hours, we've just been playing games, dancing, singing to music, drinking, basically everything fun. The girls were twerking on the guys which I thought was funny. They definitely just cheated on their douchey boyfriends, hahaha.
We've been playing corn hole in the back yard, Gwen was my teammate. It was hard because we're literally playing right next to the ocean, so the wind is messing up our shots. But that didn't matter to Gwen because she didn't miss a single shot. No cap. She must have some superpower that makes her good at everything or something(except walking in high heels). I'm the end, her and I didn't lose a single game.
"Let's go Gwen!" I yelled in celebration and she giddily laughing.
We walked up to each other and gave each other a hug. She wrapped her arms around me very tightly, strangely tightly to be honest, picked me up and spun me around.
How is this girl really fucking strong? She picked me up like nothing.
She put me down and looked at me.
"Sorry bout that."
"It's all good, you're really strong."
"Yeahhh, I get that a lot."
We laughed.
"Alright guys. Who's up to go swimming?" Ned said.
"Fuck yeah, let's go!" I said, running to the lighthouse with the guys.
"It's gonna be so cold." Caleb said.
"Shut up." I said and we laughed.
I grabbed my bathing suit and went up the spiral staircase.
We each had a section of staircase to change on, in order to not see each other. We all had to yell "good" to let each other know that we're changed.
"I'm good." I yell at the very top.
"Good." Caleb yelled.
"Good." Ned yelled.
"Good." Kris yelled.
We all left the lighthouse and we waited outside for the girls.
"To be honest, Chasey's kinda hot." Caleb said.
"Yeah I like Jaelyn, she's sweet." Kris said.
"That leaves you with Brittany." I said to Ned.
"Wait, you're going for Gwen?" Caleb asked.
"They've been talking since she first got here in Saco." Ned said.
I smirked.
Then the girls came out except for Gwen, where is she?
"Where's Gwen?" I asked.
"She's just using the bathroom." Brittany said.
"I wanna see what Gwen looks like, she's so muscular." Jaelyn said and they all excitedly agreed.
A few seconds later, Gwen walked out. They were right, she is very muscular. She looked like a goddess, like nothing could take her down.
She's probably the healthiest looking girl I've ever seen. Her legs were huge, had a small waste with nice abs, nice defined arms and shoulders. She looked like every gym guy's dream girl.
The girls yelled in excitement and Gwen started blushing.
"Girl, what is your workout routine?" Jaelyn asked and Gwen giggled.
"Uhhh, clean eating and calisthenics." She said. That sounds about right, for the build she had.
"Alright, starting that when I get home." Brittany said and we laughed.
Gwen wore a black top and bottom, it looked good on her.
I'm relatively fit. Not jacked, but nice looking where someone can tell I go lift weights.
I have red swim trunks on.
"Lifeguard on duty?" Gwen asked.
"You bet." I said and she laughed.
We all walked down a hill where it was on the side of the cliff. If I didn't say that before, there you go. The lighthouse is on a cliff and we have to walk around by going down a hill that takes us to a little beach to ourselves.
We basically ran down the hill, trying to race each other, but u didn't wanna eat shit.
Gwen stayed with me the whole time. She was laughing with me. I took her hand so I didn't fall and she wrapped her fingers in mine. We made it to the bottom and Gwen and I looked at each other, giving each other a little smile before we let go.
The others stood in front of the water, scared to go in since the water is very cold. Like I said, it's the middle of October. Another thing is that we're in northern Maine, so it'll definitely feel colder.
"Dawg I ain't going in." Caleb said.
Ned and Brittany stuck their toes in and they quickly pulled them out.
"Nope! Nope not happening!" Brittany yelled, taking a few steps back, holding Ned's shoulders. Yep, she likes him. Nice!
All of a sudden, I get picked up from behind and carried like a feather.
Gwen started gunning it to the ocean and I got scared.
"NO!" I yelled and the others were flabbergasted, trying to hold in their laugh.
Gwen was laughing so hard and started taking huge steps in the water. She kept getting deeper and suddenly, she tossed me when she got up to her belly button.
I flew a few feet and sunk into the water. I immediately got goosebumps and everything got so cold. My balls shriveled up and my body went into shock. I swam up and emerged out of the water, immediately hugging myself.
I yelled so loudly because I'm absolutely freezing.
All my friends were laughing on the beach, pointing at me.
I looked at Gwen who's laughing really hard too.
"You're an ass!" I yelled and she laughed even harder.
I walked over to her to grab her and pull her in. She backed up a little, but I manage to grab her arm, but not hard enough to hurt her. She managed to get out of my grip and then she walked up and dove at me, tackling me into the water. We both sunk with her on top of me. We both shot up out of the water again.
She was at a loss for words.
"Oh my fucking god!" She yelled and the girls and I laughed.
"How's it feel now?" I asked and I splashed her.
Then the others sucked it up and booked it into the water, despite getting really cold. They all screamed and laughed and started splashing each other.
Gwen kept splashing me, but I ran at her and wrapped my arms around her. I picked her up and I dropped us into the water again. We got out and we were laughing so hard.
I never wanted to take my eyes off of her, she was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The way the setting sun shines on her body and face, the way her hair is from the ocean and her smile, she was literally a man's dream come true.
I felt like time slowed down and I wish it froze in this exact moment, because I've never felt more alive with the most perfect person.
Eventually, her and I got out of the water because she was starting to shiver. We walked out and I wrapped her in a towel.
"Thank you." She said.
"Mhm."
Then the others came out and they dried off too. The sun was about to go down, so we headed back up and sat on the lighthouse to watch it.
As we were watching it, I looked to the side to see Jaelyn resting her head on Kris's shoulder while his arms around her. I tapped Gwen's shoulder and made her look.
"Nice!" She whispered.
"Our plan is working!" I whispered and we giggled.
Today is such a good day. We're all getting along and we're all finding things to do here, it couldn't get any better.
Since I wanna try to get Gwen, I wanted to baby step it somehow. So I just simply rested my head on her shoulder and looked at the sun. I could feel her eyes on me, I don't know how she feels. But a few seconds later, I felt her arm go over my shoulder and her fingers go through my damp and wavy hair.
I got chills down my spine from this. Her fingers felt so nice in my hair and on my scalp.
A few minutes later, the sun fell. Caleb had to power on the light for the lighthouse, so we waited a second and then we all went down.
We went inside the normal house and shut the door, getting some warm air.
"Oh that's nice." Chasey said.
I don't blame her.
We all just sat in the living room and we just started talking to each other.
Two hours go by and we're still doing that, not much is happening. We are all drinking as well and everyone could definitely feel it. I was getting dizzy, but I wasn't fucked up.
"You doing okay?" I whispered to Gwen.
"Yeah, thanks." She whispered back.
"So Gwen, where'd you come from?" Caleb asked.
"I'm from New York City."
"Is it nice?"
"For the most part, yeah. There's a lot of tourist attractions and good food."
"How bad's the crime?" Kris asked, holding Jaelyn in his arms.
"It's bad in some parts, but that's what Spider-Woman's there for."
"I don't know about that." Chasey said and Gwen looked either hurt or confused. I couldn't tell.
"What do you mean?" Gwen asked.
"I just read an article and apparently she hasn't been seen in over a month." Chasey explained.
"I think I saw the same one. The last time she was ever seen was stopping a speeding car and swinging away somewhere." Ned chimed in.
"Oh." Gwen said and took a sip of her drink. She's acting weird about this conversation for some reason. Maybe it's just how the alcohol's affecting her.
"But other than that, she did some great things. She helped a lot of people in need and made sure people got home to see their families." I blurted out and everyone agreed.
I looked over at Gwen and she was smiling widely, but she wasn't looking at me. Maybe she's just a super fan or something.
Then we decided to watch all the Jaws movies because we ended up talking about how scary sharks are. Personally I'm not, they should be more scared of us than we are to them. I'm not gonna get into it, but you know what I mean.
We all kept laughing and drinking until it was almost sunrise, we pulled an all-nighter. Everyone left the room to go to bed for a little bit, but only Gwen and I were awake. I looked at my phone to see the time, sunrise is close.
"Welp, we've stayed up this late, might as well watch the sunrise." I said, rubbing my eyes.
"I'll come." She said and we smiled at each other.
I pulled out a flashlight and we walked to the lighthouse. I opened the door and saw that the boys aren't there, I think they're all sleeping with the girls.
"Let's fucking go." I celebrated lightly.
After waking up the stairs, I sat down on the ground and Gwen did the same.
I looked at my phone again and the sun should come up within a few minutes.
"Are you having fun?" I asked Gwen and she smiled at me.
"I'm having a fucking blast, thank you for inviting me."
"No problem, it's good to do something different once in a while."
She nodded.
"I never thought I'd be on a lighthouse before." She said.
"A lot of people think that. I just got lucky enough to not be one of those people."
She giggled.
"Yeah. I wish I could invite more friends here. But... I don't really have that many close friends... I've lost a few." I said and I got quiet.
"Did they die?" Gwen asked.
"Oh no, we just parted ways. Growing up made things different and uhhh yada yada yada." I said and she smiled.
She looked forward.
"My best friend died." She said and I wasn't expecting that.
I looked at her sadly.
"Seriously?"
She nodded, frowning now.
"I'm so sorry."
"To be honest... it still hurts." She said. I can see her developing tears. I scooted closer and I wrapped my arm around her shoulder.
"Hey it's okay. I'm here." I said and she rested her head on my shoulder.
After a minute, the sun started to rise up, lifting over the sea.
"What was their name?"
"Peter. Peter Parker." She said quietly.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I don't wanna get into it." She said.
That's fair.
I held her tighter.
"I'm sure he's so proud of the woman you've become. He'll always be with you, no matter what." I said.
She lifted her head off my shoulder and looked me. A tear fell out of her eye as she was looking into mine. There was silence for a few seconds.
"You make me so happy." She said lightly and I smiled.
"You make me so happy too."
We stayed there, not moving a muscle.
Then she looked at my lips and I looked at hers. A few seconds later, we couldn't hold it anymore.
We got closer to each other and we connected our lips to each others. Finally, the moment I've been waiting for is happening. I've been wanting this to happen ever since I met her.
Our lips moved perfectly with each others and hers felt like clouds. These lips were to die for.
One of my hands was on her arm while the other caressed her face. Meanwhile her hands were on my hips. Then they moved to under my shirt, holding my stomach.
All of a sudden, I'm hit with a memory. When Amanda was molesting me at that party, her hands were on my stomach. Gwen's hands were on my stomach.
And that's when it hit.
I gasped and disconnected our lips. Gwen looked confused and scared at the same time.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
I started to breathe heavily and everything is getting quiet. All I can think about is Amanda at this moment.
I got up and looked at Gwen.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." I said, struggling not to cry. I stormed off, down the staircase.
"Y/N, talk to me, what's the matter?" I heard Gwen's voice. It was muffled to me, but it did sound like there was genuine concern coming from her.
I got out of the lighthouse and entered the normal house. I walked in and went to the bathroom, locking myself in. I sat on the floor and started silently crying.
"Why you still in my head why you still in my head why you still in my head-" I kept constantly repeating to myself, having tears pour out of my eyes. But really, why is she still in my head? It's been three years, why is it still lingering in my brain?
I heard a tiny knock at the door.
"Y/N?" It's Gwen.
"Hey, please come out. We can talk about this, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, I would never do anything to you." She said, sounding like she's crying.
I didn't make a single noise.
"Please come out and talk to me. I'm here for you, Y/N." She said, definitely crying more.
I still didn't say anything.
I heard sniffles from outside the door and then eventually, footsteps walking away.
I'm sorry Gwen, I'm really sorry too. If only you knew my pain and why I did that.
I'm afraid to sleep tonight because I don't want to have another nightmare of that exact moment, it makes me go crazy every time.
I played down on the floor and I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. I fell asleep on the bathroom floor.

Gwen is the best things that's ever happened to me. Amanda is the worst.
