(Narrator POV)The limp animatronic in his grip feels dauntingly weightless, the ground beneath his feet no longer solid. He drops Solar Flare to the floor with a loud crash and clang, heavy metal hitting hard cement, confirming his stance in reality, rooting him to the present.
The Star's light has dimmed, such significant power used in the blast that he wonders if the "limitless force" he possesses is truly as "limitless" as it claims. Exhaustion tugs at his limbs, threatening to pull him to the ground beside his victim, but he fights against its lulling call.
He could kill this thing. Could wipe it from existence and erase it from memory. Could reduce it to a pile of ash and leave Kill Code to deal with the remains, just to rub it in more. A taunt, a curse, condemning his father to a life at his side, and his side alone.
He kneels at Solar Flare's side, his gaze hauntingly hollow as he contemplates the fate he wishes to bestow upon it. Before long, he raises careful claws, reaching out towards its faceplate as The Star's power surges through his circuits, eager and urgent all at once.
He can feel it, coursing through him, melting the wires and staining the inside of his chassis black with soot. Even as it eats him alive, he realizes why he craved it, why he gave up everything just for a taste of its power.
"β𝐚𝓭 𝓭Ø𝕘."
A lance of pure agony digs into him, scream ripping itself from his damaged voice box as fire seems to pulse through every component and system in his body. Heat warnings flash across his sightline, the messages themselves distorting into intangible blotches of sharp colors and broken words.
"ᗪ𝓸Wภ."
And, just like that, he's laying on the scorched remains of his chest, faceplate pressed against the cold floor.
"ⓢ𝕥𝐚𝓨."
Eclipse remains in that position for an embarrassing amount of time. He continues slowly dripping oil out onto the ground beneath him. By the time that The Star decides he has had a long enough timeout, dizziness has begun to set in.
And a shadow looms over his head.
"Did you kill him?"
How did I not notice him getting up? Eclipse wonders, only partially bitter as he twists his head around to meet his father's piercing gaze. The bitterness fades into unease at the anguished look on Kill Code's face.
"What if I did?" He bites back despite his initial hesitation, watching the room dim in part of his sightline, before disappearing altogether. The eerie white light in his left eye flickers, then fades to match the rest of the black abyss, submerging half of his world in darkness once more.
Kill Code's expression somehow seems to get even more conflicted, and Eclipse feels a stab of jealousy sink into his chest. Would Kill Code ever feel that sort of worry for him? Was this worry?
Maybe it wasn't. Maybe Eclipse is overthinking it. Whatever the case may be, he knows for certain that his father is not happy about this turn of events.
"Get out, Eclipse." Kill Code's voice is monotone, but somehow contains an immense amount of loathing all at once.
"What?" Eclipse's voice lowers into a quiet murmur, the consequences of his actions sinking in as his father staggers carelessly around him, kneeling down beside Solar Flare, instead.
No. No! You're supposed to care about me !!
"I told you to leave. Get. Out." Kill Code repeats fiercely.
