Jasmine's POV
It didn't take long for everything to get settled down in the cafeteria. Security sent everyone to their next period class, but of course I had to talk with the principal. Kayden went off to class but Lo decided to stay with me in the office. Not that I was worried, it was just nice knowing she had my back like this though."Jasmine Carter... haven't said that name in a while." Principal Wade said while looking at me and London.
"London, get to class. I wanna talk to Jasmine alone." Wade said while pointing towards the door.
London rolled her eyes and stood up before walking out the office leaving me and Wade alone, just staring each other down. "Jasmine, you leave the school for a year just to come back and fight with people?"
"I didn't even hit that boy."
"But you intended to and that's exactly why you're in my office now."
I didn't say anything, just crossed my arms. I genuinely liked being in school, seeing other people with dreams and bright futures was inspiring in a weird way. The thought of having to be isolated from all that made my stomach turn and I leaned forward with a nervous look on my face.
"Listen Jas, you're a smart girl and I understand what you go through. I'll let you off with a warning this time, but no more throwing bottles at people." Wade said while running his hands over his face. I laughed at his stressed tone. Wade had been the principal forever, and as much as he may say he hates it we all know he isn't leaving no time soon. I left the office and turned the corner to see Meg and London waiting for me.
"Jasmine, did you get suspended?" Meghan asked while walking up to me.
I shook my head as we started walking to class. "Wade let me off with a warning, he just said I gotta stop putting my foot on these bitches necks."
"What happened though?" London asks.
"Girl you saw what happened, you was right there next to me."
"I know, I had my bad arm strong as fuck around you tryna stop it."
We stopped and all just thought back on the situation. I felt bad but you can't temp someone like that. Especially if they haven't fully finished working on themselves. "So do you think you'll be able to talk it out with Travis?" Meg asks while looking at me.
I didn't respond, I wasn't even sure how I should respond to that...
Alyssa's POV
When Kayden sat beside me in class it was a little awkward. It was just me, him, and his cute friend Kory at a table. Kory wasn't a social person, he'd just spend the whole class scrolling on his phone so it was expected for him not to say anything. We were all just lost in our own thoughts when Kayden finally spoke up, breaking the silence. "Well that could've gone worse.""Worse?" I shot him a look. "Are you slow? It's my cousins first day back and she could already be getting suspended."
"I dunno," he said with a shrug. "She could've gotten expelled."
Everyone knew how smart Kayden was, he took all honors classes and had a high gpa, but sometimes it seemed like he wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. But I didn't have the energy to argue. I was exhausted from everything going on. I knew my family had a knack for causing chaos but this was crazy. It felt like some sorta bad luck.
