Alyssa's POV
I woke up the next morning and saw Trina walking back in the room with her robe on. I didn't really feel like getting out of yet alone even going to school, with all the bullshit with Jas I'm completely drained and it's not even Friday yet. But I know I get to see Kory today so I gotta suck it up and get it together.I yawned and scratched my scalp before looking in the mirror and noticing Trina looking at me.
"You good?" She asked while putting on lotion.
"I guess."
"What's up?"
I sighed and rolled my eyes. I knew where this conversation was gonna go, I'll tell her what's going on and then she'd make me and Jas try to hug it out. It usually worked, but am I really ready to face Jasmine yet? Nah.
"I don't even know anymore. All this shit with Jas is just pissing me off left and right" I muttered, sitting up and grabbing my phone. Kory still didn't follow me back. I don't know why I even tried that.
Trina raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I get it. But you know how she is, she comes off loud and aggressive but she don't really mean it."
I groaned at Trina's statement. "Okay but she was popping it with you too last night."
Trina gave a half-smile and shook her head. "Girl, I'm not worried about none of that. I know no matter how much we piss her off Jas is never gonna put she'd hands on her family." She finished applying lotion and grabbed her clothes from the chair. "You think the two of you are gonna be able to get past this?"
I hesitated. "Maybe. I just don't know what her problem is. She says she wants to change but walks around throwing bottles and throwing shoes."
Trina nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, well... she just needs some time. Change ain't easy, Alyssa."
"Time?" I scoffed. "She had time."
Trina shrugged, pulling her hair into a bun. "Still. We're all grown now, so just talk it out with her."
I sighed, nodding as I reluctantly walked out the room and into the bathroom. Today had to be better.
Jasmine's POV
I ended up falling asleep on the phone with London, not that I didn't appreciate my twin giving me advice; I just wanted a little more clarity on the situation. I knew I still had to talk to everybody else about last night, especially since I am the oldest. After I got dressed, I checked the time and realized I'd barely given myself enough time to get ready. I hurriedly pulled Reggie out of bed before sitting in front of my mirror and starting my makeup. London was still on the phone, telling me about how her half-sister was gonna start coming to our school. Her name is Ciara or something like that, I only met her a handful of times.I half-listened as I focused on my eyeliner, trying to make it even. But the thought of Alyssa was still in my mind. I heard a knock on the door and turned to see Trina walk in, her expression a mix of concern and empathy. I knew she wasn't mad at me; it was just Alyssa that I had to really think about. She could hold a grudge till the end of time, and I guess that's what made me so nervous.
"Breakfast is ready," Trina said, leaning against the doorframe.
"I'll be down in a second..." I replied, muting my phone. London didn't need to hear all this. "Is Alyssa still mad at me?"
Trina sighed and shrugged. "She's not as mad as she was last night. But you know how she is; she just gotta process everything."
"Great. Just what I need," I muttered, turning back to my makeup. "What if she don't wanna talk to me? What if she decides she can't forgive me?"
