Silence filled Aarav's small apartment as night deepened. The rain outside had slowed, but droplets still trickled persistently against the window. The room was dark, with only the dim glow of an old table lamp casting a yellowish hue. Aarav sat in a corner, his eyes fixed on something far away, lost in thought.
His mind wandered back to the past. Neha’s voice echoed in his ears—her last breaths, the pain in her eyes, and those final words that had left an indelible scar on his heart.
"Aarav... forgive me," Neha's trembling voice seemed to come alive in his memories again. Those words had left deep wounds within him.
In frustration, Aarav picked up the bottle of liquor and poured another glass. His eyes were filled with a strange mix of pain and anger. He knew the alcohol wouldn’t ease his suffering, but it provided a temporary escape from the agony he was trying to forget.
---
The night grew heavier once again. At the "Midnight's Echo" club, people started trickling in, and the thumping beat of music reverberated through the walls. Aarav sat at the bar, his whiskey glass already empty. The bottle was in his hand, and he had drunk far too much. His face reflected both anger and grief.
At that moment, Sanaa stepped through the club's entrance. She spotted Aarav at the bar, and a concerned frown crossed her face. She knew he was sinking back into the darkness of his past.
She quickly approached him and placed a hand on his back. "Aarav, stop it. That’s enough. You’ve had too much to drink."
Aarav slowly lifted his head, his eyes bloodshot and his speech slurred. He glared at Sanaa with anger. "Who are you? Why do you keep coming back to bother me? I told you... stay away from me! You’re not my girlfriend, understand? Leave me alone!"
Sanaa fell silent at his words. His outburst revealed the depths of his pain, but she also knew he was speaking under the influence of alcohol. Sanaa reached out to him, "Aarav, I don’t want to hurt you. You’re not alone."
But Aarav’s anger only grew. He slammed the glass onto the bar and shouted, "You don’t get it! No one does. I’m broken... and I don’t want anything from you!"
Suddenly, he fell silent. His voice became heavy, and his eyes were filled with tears. Sanaa saw that he could no longer speak, his soul breaking apart.
Gently, Sanaa took hold of his arm and tried to lift him. "Come on, Aarav. Let’s get out of here. You can’t stay like this."
---
At that moment, the club doors burst open, and a group of thugs barged in. They were scanning the room, looking for someone, their faces filled with aggression and anger. Their leader, **Vikram**, walked up to the bar, and the moment he spotted Aarav, his steps faltered. Fear flickered in his eyes.
Vikram began to back away, and the once-aggressive thugs suddenly froze in place. One of them turned to Vikram and asked, "What happened, bro? Who is this guy? You look scared."
Vikram, visibly shaken, replied, "Shut up! You don’t know who this is. We need to get out of here, now!"
The thugs were stunned. They had never seen Vikram like this before. Without saying another word, Vikram hurriedly left the club, and his men followed him out in a rush.
---
Sanaa had witnessed the entire scene, utterly shocked. She continued to support Aarav, who was still heavily intoxicated. Somehow, she managed to get him outside, into the rain.
The rain was still falling, but this time, it brought them both a sense of calm. Sanaa took a deep breath and looked at Aarav. He was still unconscious, but now at peace.
Softly, Sanaa said, "No matter what, Aarav... I’m with you. You can say whatever you want, but I won’t leave you like this."
There was a truth in her voice, something that Aarav would slowly begin to understand.
