THE ANSWER FOR YOU
The next morning. Haeyun made her way to the town library. Determined to continue her research on her thesis before the final outcome. The library in that town definitely gave her all answers. The books, manuscripts and painting. It sure could help her before going back to Seoul.
She settled into a secluded corner of the library, her books and notes spread out on the table in front of her. It's been 5 hours since she stayed there from the early morning. Few hours left before it hit 12 in the afternoon.
As she immersed herself in her research, Haeyun became increasingly absorbed in her work. She flipped through various books and manuscripts, taking meticulous notes and cross-referencing information. However, the more she dug into the material, the more questions began to arise.
There seemed to be a piece missing, something elusive that eluded her grasp.
Suddenly, a faint rustling sound caught her attention, breaking her concentration. She looked up from her books, trying to determine where the noise had come from.
Haeyun's eyes darted around the library, examining the surroundings. Just as she was about to dismiss the sound as a trick of her imagination, a shadow flickered across the library's doorway.
Her heart skipped a beat. Was it her imagination, or had she just caught sight of something moving in the shadows? Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself, chalking it up to her overworked mind.
Haeyun gasped, startled by the unexpected voice. Her heart raced as she looked up to see who had spoken. Standing before her was Sunghoon, leaning against a bookshelf with a hint of a smirk on his face.
"I see you've been quite busy here," he said, his voice laced with a hint of sarcasm.
Haeyun blinked a few times, trying to regain her composure. She hadn't expected to encounter him again so soon.
"Sunghoon," she managed to say, her voice betraying a bit of surprise.
"What are you doing here?"
"You know," Sunghoon began, his tone a mix of nonchalance and curiosity. "I've been thinking about our little deal from last night."
He pushed himself off the bookshelf and took a few slow steps towards her, his gaze fixed on her face.
"The one where you agreed to help me regain my memories if I helped you with your... research, I guess?" he said, glancing at the books and notes spread out on the table.
"Well," Sunghoon drawled, coming to a halt right in front of her table.
"I've been thinking... what exactly are you working on, anyway?" He picked up a book lying on the table, flipping through the pages idly.
Haeyun watched him, feeling a mixture of annoyance and fascination. His casual demeanor and the way he was handling her research material irked her, but there was something about his presence that also drew her in.
Deciding to answer his question, she crossed her arms and met his gaze frankly.
"I'm doing research for my thesis," she said bluntly.
"Your thesis, huh?" Sunghoon put the book back on the table, his smirk widening slightly.
"Must be quite the interesting topic."
He moved around the table, coming to stand beside her chair, leaning casually against the edge of the table.
Sunghoon's smirk faded, replaced by an inscrutable expression. He looked at her, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly.
"Vampires, huh?" he said, his voice softer than before. "And have you found any evidence in this dusty library?"
"You," she replied with sarcasm and smile.
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, his expression softening a little at her response. He seemed to be intrigued by her confidence.
"Oh?" he said, shifting his position to lean a bit closer.
Haeyun took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. She knew this was her chance to convince him that her research was valid.
"I've found numerous accounts and stories from various cultures and religions that mention vampires and other supernatural beings," she said, meeting his gaze directly.
"There are recurring patterns and similarities in these stories, suggesting a shared belief in their existence."
"Interesting," Sunghoon mused, his tone betraying a hint of skepticism. "But stories and legends don't necessarily prove anything. You need solid evidence to back up your claims."
Haeyun nodded, conceding that point.
"I understand that," she replied. "That's why I've been looking into historical records and scientific research as well. There are several documented cases of people who claim to have encountered vampires or witnessed unusual happenings that align with the descriptions of vampires in mythology."
"It's not my first time seeing someone like you. There's other beside you in this town. You never know..." she continued and looked at her laptop again.
Sunghoon's eyes widened slightly, his interest piqued. He hadn't expected her to bring up the existence of other vampires in the town.
"Other vampires in this town, eh?" he said, crossing his arms. "And how do you know that?"
Haeyun didn't look up from her laptop, her fingers gliding over the keyboard as she typed.
"Let's just say I have my sources," she said cryptically, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.
Sunghoon suddenly stop asking her question instead he just nodded his head and walked away from her with smirked.
"Meet you tonight. I will show you the answers of your thesis," he said and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
'Answer?'
