The days after the incident were difficult for Hyunjin. And for Seungmin, he just felt it. The world outside kept moving, but for him, time felt frozen. Every corner of his apartment reminded him of Seungmin—his camera on the shelf, his favorite coffee mug in the kitchen, the faint scent of his cologne still lingering on Hyunjin's pillows.

He wanted to delete Seungmin from his life but he knew that was impossible. He tried to fully devote himself to art, let his emotions flow through the brush. But every stroke reminded him of Seungmin—his face, his laugh, his touch. Hyunjin painted until his hands ached, but the emptiness in his heart remained.

After a particularly draining day at work, Hyunjin sat in his balcony, staring out at the city. He could just about see Seungmin's house a few blocks away. Sure they were bound to cross paths but Hyunjin specifically made sure their timings did not clash. He clutched his phone tightly, fighting the urge to call Seungmin. His thumb hovered over Seungmin's name in his contacts for what felt like an eternity, but he knew that hearing Seungmin's voice would only deepen the wound.

I basically threw his phone on the bed, letting out a frustrated sigh as it skided and fell on the floor. But at that point, he didn't have the energy to get up and check. He buried his face in his hands and took a deep breath to stop himself from crying.

It wasn't supposed to end this way.

He started sobbing, which led to him hysterically crying. Today, he finally let out his grief, pain, sorrow.

Months passed. Hyunjin threw himself into his art, taking on more projects, teaching painting classes, anything to keep his mind occupied. He smiled when he had to, laughed when it was expected, but inside, the emptiness remained. Friends noticed the change in him, the way his once vibrant energy had dimmed, but Hyunjin brushed off their concern, insisting he was fine.

After a particularly exhausting day, he sat down to scroll social media. But his notifications showed a completely unexpected message.

>I saw the artwork you posted. It's beautiful.

He hesitated for a moment but replied.

>Thanks a lot

He switched off his phone and massaged his temples. So neither of them had changed the matching ID they had decided to keep. Was there a possibility they could go back to normal again?
