“Come on and stop whining.” I growled at her as we neared the best evening of her life.

She still hadn’t had a clue regarding this wonderful and magical twilight. I couldn’t stop giggling at the thought of seeing her gaping at something as well.

My fist was wrapped around her wrist as I dragged her behind me.

My little knight had given me the location to where I was supposed to take her and with a lucky guess, we were almost there.

She was holding the edge of the skirt in her hand so that the dress would elevate up to her knees and wouldn’t be drenched in the mud but considering the pace we’re running in, it was kind of hard to avoid.

“If I got dirt on this dress I’m blaming you.”

I ignored her sassy comments and led her behind the criss-cross of two trunks that formed a perfect X and was veiled by the curtain of interweaving forget-me-nots.

As we slid under the X, I came in contact with an immense track of shadows.

There wasn’t a single ray of the moonlight bouncing on the ground, no sound of the crickets’ wings, no chit-chat and nothing but a hollow silence akin to the one after death.

“Where are we?” Rory whispered quietly into my ear as she took my wrist between her clutches.

I didn’t know the answer myself.

This couldn’t be a marriage site—okay I did think of something exceptional when I heard of ‘Vampire Wedding’ but I wouldn’t imagine it to be so bare and poignant and wretched.

It had no life, no joy to live; it was a place where love couldn’t persist.

Where was I? I was pretty sure I followed the same instructions as he’d given me.

“Wait there after entering through the X. Wait till the moon had polished on every part of your skin and all you could see was your reflections at everywhere your eyes wandered off to. Wait till you’ve found yourself awestruck by the beauty of the night.”

“Till the moon had polished on every part of my skin?”

I recalled his words trying to understand the hidden meaning.

It almost sucked my energy out as I figured to find a solution of his question.

Why did he have to talk in riddles? It was so not like him.

“Till you’ve found yourself awestruck by the beauty of the night.”

I stared up at the sky hoping to see a little of the moon but nothing came before my eyes.

It was all too dark and the thick clouds wandering in the sky blocked out any possible beam.

The moon was there but it was not glowing which made it difficult for me to understand his riddle.

How was I supposed to find an answer if the moon wouldn’t even shine?

I kept staring at the sky and waited as my clutch on her wrist tightened to avoid her from leaving.

I couldn’t risk that, if I let her go now this all would be for nothing.

As I was wondering she wriggled her arm harshly away from mine.

“Stay here if you want, I’m not wasting another second in this pit!” She spat at me and twisted around to leave.

In all the darkness I could barely even see her but I tried my best to get a hold of her.
