Red sat on the shores of some beach as she sobbed lightly. She was too overwhelmed and confused and couldn't believe she indirectly sentenced someone to be be-headed. CINDERELLA, of all people.
Soon she heard footsteps, and stood up, ready to fight. Chloe ran to her and wasted no time attacking her.
'HOW COULD YOU?!', she screamed in tears.
'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!'.
'You didn't MEAN to?!'. Chloe slashed at her with her sword, but Red pushed it to the side, and kicked her in the stomach, sending her tumbling back.
Chloe lunged at her and the two ended up wrestling each other. In all the chaos, Chloe ended up knocking the pocket-watch out of Red's pocket.
The two didn't seem to notice though because they were too busy trying to strangle each other, but when the pocket-watch opened, and started glowing, they froze and turned to it.
'What the . . . ?', Red muttered'.
The two let go of each other and slowly walked towards the watch. It glowed and a faint image of a scepter faded in. Then, the weirdest thing, the watch started talking, and the voice sounded familiar to Chloe, but she couldn't quite grasp it.
'The Scepter of Aziron, was lost 9,000 years ago. It has been said to obtain a vast amount of power, enough power to defeat any powerful sorceress, Maleficent, Ursula, and even the Queen of Hearts. I can guide you, help you find it. Interested?'.
It closed up and Chloe and Red stared at each other before Red grabbed the watch.
Chloe stood there, frozen, as Red examined the watch. If she found that scepter, she could defeat the Queen of Hearts and save her mother, and she could defeat any villain she wanted.
She lunged at her, and reached for the watch, but Red wouldn't let her grab it.
'What do you think you're doing? This watch is mine!'.
'Yeah? Well that scepter might be the only thing that can save my mom. I'm gonna get it, and you're not gonna stop me'.
She paused. 'Who said I wanted to stop you?', she gave her a vague smirk, and Chloe abruptly became confused.
'What is THAT supposed to mean?'.
'It means that even though it might not LOOK like it, I want to beat my mom just as bad as you do. You and I can team up and--'.
'You think I'm actually gonna work with you?! After what you just did to my mom, NO WAY!'.
'Look, you can sit here and scream all you want, but this is MY watch, and unless we do this together, you're gonna have to think of ANOTHER way to save your mom'.
'I can't believe you'.
'Please', that was probably the first time Red ever said PLEASE. 'I have to do this with you'.
Chloe hesitated. 'I can't believe I'm saying this, but I accept. Let's do this'.
She stretched out her hand, and Red shook it, clarifying that they were now on good terms.
'But just for the record, we're not friends', she concluded. 'We're only working together. I don't DO friends'.
'That's fine by me. So how do we find that scepter?'.
'Yeah, how do we find that scepter?', a familiar voice called out through the woods. They both turned around to see Uma run towards them, panting and out of breath.
'U-Principal Uma?', Chloe asked. 'How did you get away from the Queen's guards?'.
'Long story short, I knew the Queen was gonna go wild, which is why I hired extra security. They didn't over-power her, but they managed to help me sneak away. Now what's this talk about beating that crazy Queen?'.
'There's a Scepter dominant enough to overpower her', Chloe explained. 'It's called the--'.
'Scepter of Aziron', Uma interrupted.
'Yeah, how'd you know?'.
'Lucky guess, now let's get moving'.
'Okay'. Red turned to her watch. She looked a little awkward as she tried to speak to it.
'You said you can guide us to that scepter. Where do we go?'.
It told them that they first needed to cross the lake and get out of Auradon.
'Okay, and how do we do that?'.
'Uhm . . . hello!', Uma said, calling attention to herself. She closed her eyed and clutched her necklace as a huge pirate ship rose out of the water.
'Wow', Chloe gasped in amazement. 'How did you--?'.
'I'm the daughter of Ursula', she cut her off. 'That should explain. Now come on princesses, let's go'.
As they were walking towards the ship, the Queen's guards started chasing them, and they ran for their lives. Thankfully, they made it out safely, and when Red looked back, she caught a glimpse of her mother's furious glare.
'Well, at least I had her approval for a little while', she muttered to herself.
