Clem had  always loved doing dumb and dangerous things, despite never having a reason. she still did the stupid shit maybe she did it for attention, maybe for the thrill.  who knows? she didnt.

and thats how she found her self knocking outside of Eli's bedroom window even though his mom wouldve let her in at any time. " hey" she climbed into his window and onto his soft carpetted floor, she unzipped her boots and  left them by the window, a spot practically indented in the carpet from the pair of shoes"why do you always make things more difficult for yourself? i would've unlocked the front door for you" eli  sat down on his messy bed.  "what fun is that?"clem shrugged. " you're gonna  get the cops called on you by the neighbors" demitri warned the girl. "and? " the wavy haired girl pouted her lip with squinted eyes. demetri huffed and shook his head at the girls response.  she sat down on  the floor and  took her backpack off , taking the laptop out of it.

"alright. what are we doing ?" clem asks pulling up her school profile. " the english report, for mr.kent" eli replied having his computer sitting on his lap."and what unit was that?" clem questioned . demetri sighed " unit two". clem pointed to her dark haired freind  with a finger gun.

The three worked all night on the project that was due that monday. a knock echoed in on  the moskowitz boys door. "come in" eli called. in the doorway stood mrs.moskowitz with a plate of three  PB&J's  " just thought since you guys have been working so hard i'd bring you guys something to much on" the warm smiled lady went around the room handing out the napkin wrapped sandwiches.

" sorry clem, i think you drank the last yoo hoo ill have to restock for next time"  the lady stood again in the doorway with a tilted smile . " that's alright, thanks for the food mrs.moskowitz" clem responded " you're welcome sweetheart, and don't you guys work too late  alright?" she said before leaving the room.  clair  pulled the napkin down and began to eat her sandwich." i love your mom" she  looked in elis direction who already had a small smile drawn to his lips " i know" eli gives out a small laugh.

"i'm more focused on how you drank all the yoo hoos... she just bought those like three days ago" demetri laughed" I don't even think I had one " Demetri tried to think back   " what can i say, i love them. they remind me of childhood" clem sighed out  with a firm nod

the three kids had split up around ten, demetri and clem going home. demetri walking out of the front door and clem going the same way she came from. "bye eli" she left with a smile  eli waved as he shut the window.

on the first day of ninth grade, eli was sitting in his science class when a girl sat next to him,"hi." she  said quietly  he lifted a hand and waved " i'm clem"  she introduced herself eli furrowed his brows "its a nickname, my parents used to call me their 'clementine'  cause  i ate them so much that my nose turned orange." eli smiled " im eli" he introduced him self " so what's your real name?" he asked

"clarissa. but i hate it so if you ever call me that i will punch you in the face" clem's face dropped, causing elis eyebrows to raise "kidding" she said relizing he wasn't getting her sarcasm " geez, if we're gonna be friends you're gonna have to  get my sarcasm"she laughed. eli couldn't help but smile , the last time he made a friend was demetri.
